As a person born and raised catholic, I used to attend mass and, in the mass, there were two readings one from the Old Testament and one from the New Testament. In the reading from the Old Testament God said in the ten commandments, you shall not make idols to worship. Sounded good until I looked at all the statues in the church that people knelt in front of and prayed to. Thought that was strange. When I asked about that I was told Christ changed the rules, so God made a mistake that had to be rectified, that was even stranger.

My problem with the idea that some apostles just sort of made up seeing Jesus after he died is that you have at least a few apostles who were put to death for not renouncing it. If I went around and said I saw somebody that came back from the dead and the government said they would execute me if I didn't renounce it, I would be saying it was justified a joke and of course I didn't, even if I knew I did. How many people would really give their life for a lie, or hoax because I doubt many would.

1st. If Jesus preached from 27-30 A.D and he was killed in 30 A.D then be default historically he would have been born around 1 A.D or 2 A.D
2nd none of his historical accounts before beginning to preach meaning after turning 30 is irrelevant to the salvation work of God.

I can break this video down to “The Bible says this, but really it’s not”.
It’s the perfect video for people who know little about the Bible, but think they do. They take Bible verses out of context, ignore other verses, or just make things up. Sure, I find it interesting, but like everything else on the History Channel, it’s really garbage. I wouldn’t have been surprised if they said Jesus was really an alien. I would’ve found a serious historical investigation more interesting.

I would take the earlier concept of what that passage meant as in the Septuagint, instead of much latter "translation" by the Jews. Many of the quotes from OT in the NT are directly from the Septuagint in Jesus day.
