I'd mow that lawn
ОтветитьSo my biggest question is why did Rust borrow the mower? We see later that in ‘95 he lives in an apartment. Would love to her some crazy theories. Was kinda disappointed that there wasn’t already a video about it.
Ответитьto be fair if I came home to sweaty Matthew McCougahey hanging out with my wife I’d be insecure too
Ответить"I like mowing my wife's lawn"
ОтветитьWoody bout to cry 😂😂
ОтветитьThis is the moment that the lawnmower becomes the true detective
Ответитьthis is one of my favorite scenes; not only is the dialogue hilarious but how manly & shredded Rust is but how absolutely DORKY he looks walking away, even if his hand is on his gun (maybe).
it’s all absolute gold. ❤️
MY WIFE, MY LAWN, MY HOUSE
ОтветитьWill TV this good ever happen again
ОтветитьI actually read this scene way differently than other people. In my opinion, there’s two things going on here. One, I think the reason Russ was at his house was because he caught on to the fact that Marty was having an affair. (Locker Room scene) IMO Rust was testing Marty to see if he would care if someone intruded into his personal life, and also to give Marty perspective on his hypocrisy of having a secret lover while being upset with Rust. (Rust was a family man but his family life got cut short due to an unfortunate accident. He doesn’t want Marty to ruin the good thing he no longer has)
Two, Marty being upset at Rust for mowing his lawn was IMO a subtle foreshadowing towards the reveal of the killer. “I like mowing my lawn” A man’s lawn is symbolic for his complete ownership of land. A symbol of territory. The first scene with the killer is him mowing what is essentially his own lawn. (He’s a member of the family that owns all the church property around the town.) And the second scene way way later on in the season again shows the killer mowing another property. He states that his family has been around for a long time.
The reason i prefer this approach to the lawn scene rather than the foreshadowing affair assumption is the fact that there are plenty of other scene that show Marty’s wife’s subtle interest in Rust. The lawn scene would be WAY to obvious and contradicts Rusts character type. He shows absolutely no interest in her until his drunken state causes him to have a moment of weakness.
This is my opinion lmk if you think it’s a stretch or not…
Rust was so innocent being neighborly in this scene 😭
ОтветитьThe fuck is rust playing at
ОтветитьRust mowed it again and this time the lawn said : "I haven't been mowed like that since before the girls"
ОтветитьFunny that the end game villain of this season is a lawn mower.
ОтветитьJust realized something. Rust can read people, and read Marty’s face when he said to stay for dinner, and knew it wasn’t genuine so he left. It’s messed up cause poor reserved Rust was genuinely happy to have done something nice for them. But also he had no business doing all that in the first place so… 😂
ОтветитьI see no mention by anyone of the irony of this scene and then the guy that they are after turning out to be a lawnmower
ОтветитьWoody's breathing terrifies me.
ОтветитьRust did this for multiple reasons. 1. He knows that Marty isn’t being faithful to Maggy so he’s trying to send him subliminal messages to tell him to stop. 2. He actually enjoys talking to Maggie as a friend and wants her to hook him up with some woman from the hospital. 3. He likes and misses doing fatherly things because he misses the fuck out of his daughter.
Also it’s hilarious how hypocritical Marty is. The typical cheater M.O.
Why is he the only Mathew we addreess as Mathew. Not just dumbass Matt who grows up to be nothing?
ОтветитьDidn’t have to rub Tabasco in his eyes
ОтветитьNot only did rust mow his lawn he also ate the cake
ОтветитьBro just wanted to do something nice 💀
ОтветитьDon't be mowing another man's lawn. Even if that man's a cripple and single.
That ain't right.
If Rust wasn't so hot I think this would've been fine.
ОтветитьMaggie already knows what she's doing here. She planned her move on Rust for a long, long time. Just kept it in her back pocket.
ОтветитьThis is a hilarious scene but it’s also pretty sad. Rust had absolutely no intention on intruding and just wanted to do something nice for his friend, but Marty just completely shuts him down due to his own insecurity.
ОтветитьRust just wanted to socialize
ОтветитьHonestly if someone mowed my lawn for me I'd be grateful but then again it is a very large lawn.
ОтветитьThis reminded me of the scene from Kingpin where woody hits a guy and says: "Take that you piece of shit, you don't mow in the another guys lawn"
ОтветитьThe way Rust walks away is iconic af.
ОтветитьHad the same talk with my robot mower
ОтветитьI always felt Russ mowed his lawn in order to entice jealously in Marty so that he realises, before it’s too late, what a good thing he has, and how, just under the surface, lies a deep well-spring of feeling for his wife.
ОтветитьI get they are partners and stuff but I don't even go over to my brothers house to see my baby niece when he is not there. No man should ever be alone with their friends wife and no definitely need to be doing another mans yard work chores unless they are hired help
Ответитьlol Rust knew what he was doing and he kinda regretted it for a moment, that "how you doing Marty" sounded a little mousy xD
ОтветитьIn the end Rust did indeed mow Marty's lawn.
ОтветитьI think if he hadn't said "saw it needed mowing" and had been more outright thankful about wanting to return a favour Marty would have maybe taken it. But his ego and paranoia were triggered over the edge with that line
ОтветитьI havent seen this yet but did rust and maggie already fuck before this? Is that why Marty's pissed to see rust at his house when hes not there?
Ответить“But my lawn, Rust. You don’t mess with a man’s lawn!”
- Marty “Hank Hill” Hart
This is a kinda weird thing to do admittedly
ОтветитьJesus, what a good scene
ОтветитьRust is odd, and Marty is projecting his guilt and bitch-ass delicate sensibilities.
I believe Rust thought he was being normal/nice.
I don’t think that conversations was about mowing lawns.
ОтветитьTrue Detective season 1 is a miracle. It has everything the other three seasons lack. (as in no liberal crap). You guys go ahead and mow your own lawn.
ОтветитьAnyone sees that Marty finds Rust intimidating?
Ответитьif your woman loves long conversations with another man, thats it boys, remember that
ОтветитьTheres a delelted scene here they took out
Marty: i love mowing my lawn
Rust: wait were talking about the lawn or maggie
Marty: maggie!?!?!? No!!!! This lawn is mowed a certain way at an angle. What does Maggie have to do with this?
He knows he is neglected his family so he is projecting his fear or wifes infidelity on to his friend
