I made this according to the recipe and I'd really think about using balsamic vinegar instead of soy sauce. Or use less or low sodium soy. I had to add, in my opinion, way too much sugar/molasses to compensate for the saltiness. Balsamic isn't overly salty and has a little bit of sweetness already so less sugar/molasses needed to balance things out. The ice bath worked perfectly to stop the broccoli cooking & retain that bright green color!

ОтветитьMarmite in sauces is something I’ve been doing for ages. Umami off the scale. Works great in tomato based sauces as well

ОтветитьYou can get "oyster" sauce that is vegetarian (essentially mushroom sauce). It's really really good in almost every thing.

ОтветитьHi there. I do not have a hot red pepper to use today. I do have crushed red pepper flakes and ground cayenne red pepper. What can I substitute forr the fresh red pepper you had.
ОтветитьWhy do you have to mention that the vegan part was 'incidental'? Are you insecure that people online will judge you that you don't eat meat?
ОтветитьCulture appropriation
