This is no joke. Our basset hound “Elvis” bit everyone that came to our house including our parish priest. We heard yelling and cursing one afternoon only to see Elvis had latched on to the ankle of our priest!

They are certainly atop the adorable kingdom. The best thing about a basset is when you tell them about your rotten day they actually look like they are commiserating...

My 1st dog was a Bassett crossed with a Beagle....more Bassett though, absolutely best dog I ever had. This was when I was in my 20's I'm 62 now and I still miss him. He was loyal, great with kids and cats. When I was in hospital for 7 days he howled every day for me my neighbours told me. Greatest dog ever,his name was Fred 💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙REALLY ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO!!!!!

They are sweet and amusing but pretty useless. I still like them though. Good for cuddling and having a food buddy.

Man, all that slobber - it's lethal. And then there's the Bassett Hound that jumps on the bed first thing in the morning, lands on your bladder and uses it as a trampoline .. then they pin you down and slobber you up with KISSIES. Yes sir, ruthless predator indeed.

Why would anyone ever want to watch greyhounds run? they pale in comparison to the speed of a Bassett hound.

Barbecue ribs just disappeared from the lawn, nothing was left, all gone. It was amazing to hear crunch, crunch. If my Rosie ever got mad she could’ve broken bones, not very high, I don’t think she ever got mad. She sure did love my kids.

You can tell it's an apex predator by their svelt shape and long sinewy limbs.
