I feel like Jordan vs clyde, is very similar to curry vs lillard. Conceptually similar players and both great, and it's not easy to see why one was clearly better when you only go category by category of their games (he can shoot, he can pass he can defend etc.). But the synergy of the skills together and the absolute excellence at certain things vs merely being really good at them makes the difference.

this is fascinating. i always did think clyde was similar to michael in physicality and game. but i did suspect something was missing. he never had a Scotty Pippen on his team.

Living in 3rd Ward when he played at UofH, it was always electric with him and Olajuwon was Phi Slama Jama was exciting. Olajuwon got into a fight at the Utotem store, and Clyde was home grown, even tho he went to Sterling highschool. We loved him too. Clyde the Glide... Htown baby...

Nobody was/is Mike. Clyde had the moves and was very athletic. What he didnt have was Mikes ability to lead, and motivate teammates to give 100% .Mike was also a student of the game,he could analyze and dissect other players on the and adjust on the fly. And MJ had that attitude, not to mention players feared him.Clyde was great, but Mike was Mike. Pippen just stop it, you weren't Clyde offensively, not close.

Clyde the glide and Air Jordan have a lot in common. Were they differentiate, MJ was the Hitler of the league, Clyde was Jesus. And we all know how that goes.

clyde i believe is one of only 3 players with 21000 points, 6000rebs 6000 asst and 2000 steals, the others are oscar robinson and lebron james, i could be way off on that, someone check!

Clyde was a hell of a player and the only reason he doesn’t have more championships is cause of Jordan. But I’m glad he did win a championship in 95.

The difference between Clyde and Jordan is attitude. No disrespect to Drexler (he's my all-time fav.), but MJ just had that tenacity that went to that extra level. Clyde is so nice, classy, professional. I have a story with Clyde in my latest video about Portland Murals. I love the Blazers and the 90s era of hoops. Cool vid!

Drexler is my favorite player of all time and its funny how in recent years NBA players have treated like he wasnt that good. Watch his highlight reels. He was amazing and one of the most humble guys you ever met. I worked on an NBA video with him and he's was the nicest fellow you ever met.

The closest players to Michael Jordan, were Kobe Bryant and Clyde Drexler.

That doesn't mean they are #2 or #3 all-time, but they played similar and had elite ability.

Great compilation of such a high class professional player. But like jordan said....maybe he did not have that ambition to win what ever it takes! And I guess that is what Jordan meant. But sometimes you gotta have certain valus that you are not willing to pass just to win a championchip. I guess Jordan had no red line. He would do anything....

I don't understand the Hodges comment. Was that just some out of context stuff for click bait?
In what way did Clyde not understand the game outside of the court? He was professional on and off the court.
You never heard something negative about his behavior, and by all accounts is a fairly humble and stand up dude.
So what am I missing here?

Loved Drexler back to his Phi Slama Jama days. That incredible national semi final against Louisville (also a very good semi final the year before against UNC). He was a 'clean' player and did not try to draw fouls; and sometimes his nerves got the better of gim. But he worked incredibly hard at the college and pro level; he lived ul to his nickname; and was, always part of winners
