ОтветитьGreat post., learn something new - west point ride /chest cradle @8.50 . Ouch ! Also liked billy Robinson's version of the guillotine - the grovit ! Simple setups, and great techniques which are bluddy painful!
ОтветитьJosh is the man
Ответитьgreat videos - looking forward to seeing more of these
ОтветитьBrilliant!
ОтветитьI would like to thank Roy Wood, Andrea Wood, and everyone else involved very much for making this new series starting off with Josh Barnett as a special guest! I hope Matsunami Osamu of Riley's Gym Kyoto can join in on a future episode!
ОтветитьI'm glad catch wrestling and The Snake Pit are making such a comeback, every combat sports fan should be, there's so much potential with all of CACC's children (freestyle, American folkstyle, luta livre, MMA, and even BJJ)
ОтветитьNothing new under the sun! 🌞
Great video! It’s like watching a movie / tv show! 👏🏻
The quality is superb 👌🏻
Thank you for the upload.
ОтветитьI came across a BJJ instructional video that was teaching the crucifix. I looked a little further and there's dozens of "BJJ Crucifix" videos.
I replied to one of them that I learned the crucifix at my AAU wrestling club in Tampa in the 60s and it was taught by my coach who learned it while wrestling in high school and college in Philadelphia in the 1930s from his coaches, catch wrestlers who had been in the sport since the late 1800s
Through that same coach, I did get to meet and learn from Billy Robinson, Karl Gotch and Ted Heath (also from Wigan) but not nearly as much as I wish I had.
This video is really well produced.
Thank you for keeping Catch as Catch Can alive.
(I'm still kicking myself for not stopping at Wigan the last time I was in the UK. At the time I had no idea the school was still going)
Josh really has the knack for keeping you engaged. Dudes a great teacher and ambassador for the sport.
ОтветитьLegends!
ОтветитьSimply loved it, keep them coming.
ОтветитьThis content is so important! Keep it coming!

Ответить❤ catch wrestling
ОтветитьI got to meet Billy Robinson one time. He was doing a private lesson at the nearby Air Force base. I was taking a piss in the locker room, and he came in to do the same. "Don't ever get old, lad," he said as he entered. Now I'm 40, and I understand what he meant.
ОтветитьPhenomenonal work guys
Ответить"They're all passed away but they're not dead cause they live on in me, everyone they worked with and everybody I give the fire to"❤️🔥 wow! Thank you for sharing and keeping Catch as catch can wrestling alive for all of us!
ОтветитьI am most definitely going to be using that West Point ride at bjj
ОтветитьIm in the Bay Area, would love to learn Catch..
ОтветитьExcellent Excellent Excellent ❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe WAR Master
ОтветитьJosh teaches really well
ОтветитьI like when you wear beards Bro
Ответить100% there is no new technique, it’s all been done before. Entry evolves though.
ОтветитьThis is so incredible. Seeing Barnett at the Mecca of it all. This being documented is incredible.
ОтветитьKazushi Sakuraba - 'The Gracie Hunter' - was trained in catch wrestling by Billy Robinson.
ОтветитьLove to see my Coach and head of Snakepit USA on one of these, Coach Joel Bane. He has an encyclopaedia of CACC knowledge in his brain
ОтветитьJosh legend!!!!hall of fame
ОтветитьEverytime I did grappling... I close my eyes. Is this bad? I just go with feeling.
ОтветитьLove Josh Barnett giving back!
ОтветитьThis is amazing! I can’t wait for more content.
ОтветитьThe slide by was the only takedown I was good at in high school.
ОтветитьMy home, well Leyland! My dad used to go here in the 60s
ОтветитьHe's referring to that baseball slide of an arm drag Garcia uses. A Billy Robinson special
ОтветитьRoy is an amazing coach taught 3 of my kids hes a living legend always on the mat amazing job amazing gym brilliant josh coming to wigan the home of catch wrestling xxxx
Ответитьquestion: whats the reason this style seems unable to win at the highest levels of grappling tournaments against bjj or judo stye opponents? is it the different positional strategies or how the submissions work? could a modern catch person win ADCC?
ОтветитьBest ever. Great vids. Keep’em comin’ 👍🏾
ОтветитьLove anything with Josh in it
ОтветитьJosh is a wealth of Catch knowledge. Him and Paulson are genius.
ОтветитьSmartest man that has competed in UFC
ОтветитьBig Tom Aspinall lives near there. Maybe Jon Jones should be studying catch.
ОтветитьI want to make a Catch as Catch Can club in Western Washington. Like many people, I grew up wrestling but CACC wasn't something I heard about until well into adulthood. I want to learn more, keep it alive and grow the community here.
