Specialist in modern history, PhD in history. He graduated from the Institute of Asian and African Studies of Moscow State University. Ph.D. in history. Founded and directed the Institute of Russian State Humanitarian University history, was co-director of the Centre of Comparative and Global Studies IFS RSUH, Head of the Department of Asia and Africa Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences, Russian Academy of Sciences.
A specialist on Russian history, geopolitics. At the center of scientific interest for Fursov are the challenges of globalization, social and political relations. He is the author of more than 200 scientific papers, including nine books.
