Power Saver Pro, what a crock. Any electrician will tell you that E=IR or Voltage equals Current multiplied by Resistance. It's an equation you can't beat. The box you're holding is a capacitor, the same ones are used in ceiling fans. It consists of two sheets of some type of conducting material with an insulating sheet between and then rolled up and put in a box and filled with epoxy. All this info from me, 20 years an electrician.

As for your gas grill lighters I think what they are playing on is a device called a TENS machine. The real TENS or Trans Cutaneous Nerve Stimulating device is a real gizmo that does actually help with pain and they've been around for ever. This crowd have just used peoples minimal knowledge of this type of device to sell grill lighters as a medical device.

According to my mechanic the voltage source pin still powers devices plugged into the ODB II port even when the ignition is turned off. He said that it drained my battery if I left the car unused for a few days.

I read the comments before I commented. I read one comment that was very close on the first power saving box. The way you tested it would never test what it actually is supposed to do. What it is supposed to do is make the power consumption meter that measures the power supplied to the house show less consumption.

The box does this by smoothing the sign wave Alternating Current (AC) to nearly a true sign wave. All power company input cables accept "noise" (inherent electrical surges in the nearby environment) onto the input line. When this noise modulated voltage is measured by your meter it still measures the positive "noise" spikes as power usage. The power saving box smooths these spike out and the regular voltage from the power company is not affected, but the meter is. All your devices still use the same power, it is just that the meter is reading only what is actually used and not the noise spikes.

The way to test this device is to stabilize the power usage and take a monthly usage report. Then plug in the power saver, and take a new report at the same time lapse and same stabilized power usage. If there is a change it could reasonably be assumed that the difference is generated by the power saver.

I purchased one of these boxes just to see what is inside and it is a commercial power filter using a large capacitor and a couple of coils (and a few resistors) to form a "Pi" filter. It is called a Pi filter because on a schematic it looks similar to the Greek character π.

In a household system it does make the meter move slower and will save enough in one month to pay for its self but not much more. Over a year about $200.00. If you are on a tight budget you probably do not have enough "extra change" laying around to by it. If you do you would probably not notice because of all the other things that affect you power consumption.

It is basically a faith product. If you believe in it and use, it it will work for you, just not enough to matter.

You are measuring the power usage of the power using device. The device is made to filter the line and lower the power measured at the house meter not at the point of usage by a utility component.

The one that gets me is the gold nickel that sells for $10.00. They talk about the price of gold and how much it has gone up. Then they show a gold nickel making you think you are buying gold, but the nickel is just gold plated and not very much at that. Gold can be plated very thin and that is what they do. The price of gold would have to go up by tens of thousands of dollars per ounce to get any benefit from the small amount of gold on the nickel. The first thing Its a power factor correction device, which in a house is negligible. That Red capacitor is supposed to offset the PF created from inductive loads like big motors. Again useless in a house.

First object, the power saving box. I bet that black box was a capacitor. Capacitors are used on electric motors to slowdown or smooth out he sign wave going to to motor to help it have more torque and run more efficiently. I bet if you put enough capacitors in your home you’ll smooth out the sign wave enough to make ac dependent appliances more efficient causing less amp draw. But it would talk a lot of them to see a difference.
