Hi both what a lovely video, Jo did wonder if you had a bit of post natal depression, parenthood is not easy at anytime but on a boat !!!! You have managed to work through it with Vic and William( he’s a credit to you both) but you seem to light up when you started video. Great to see you back doing what you love baking, cakes looked yummy. Have great week 🎉
ОтветитьI love this channel ❤️. It's honestly refreshing to see your progress and experiences in the canals. You have a beautiful accent Joanna, where does that fare from? Cheers to you guys from Nashville, Music City USA!

ОтветитьI'm a Mum of now 9 Adult Children,10 Grandchildren.
They soon grow up...Even though My Eldest is 44yrs old the youngest 23 yrs old they do still want Mum and Dad!
Love watching you all on your narrowboat!
Great to see you trying other Cake Decorating Techniques!
I have been cake decorating since 1972 at School self taught a hobby Baker.
There is so much you can add to your Baking range that is easy to do...Old School Bakes are always a favourite!
I know having a little one isn't easy running a business.I started mine in 1996 when my 8th child was 14 months old then had my 9th in 1999.
I breast fed my babies so much easier to manage as I work from home.
I wish you all well for the future!
Love the production of your new videos.
Can't wait to see what delicious delights you create!
Your canal journey has inspired us to have a holiday on a canal boat this spring. Loved your Viennese Whirls. Going to make some. X
ОтветитьBeautiful, witty, and entertaining (and that goes for the video, too, not just you😂).
ОтветитьWe’ve got 2 kids under 2, it can be tough, even in a big space. I applaud what you guys do, and love following along. I’m a photographer and going to take pictures really calms me, take full advantage of it!
ОтветитьLovely to hear you sounding so optimistic :-)
ОтветитьWait a minute, were you using a film camera to take photos of your cookies? Have you talked about this somewhere? Maybe it just looked like film... (awesome video, also)
ОтветитьGreat to watch William play the tumble game, having fun without lots of gadgets. Please let him play with simple toys so he can learn practical skills. My youth was around making trolleys from off cuts of wood, old pram wheels and axles held together with reclaimed screws and bent nails and bashed fingers. What a smashing time we had.
That must have been great sailing the boat and getting those nice comments from the walkers, good on yer.
The fundamental reason why you don’t feel your self it that person doesn’t exist and has been replaced with a mother. 🤔
ОтветитьI think your filming is perfect...love your videos each and every one. I am glad you are having fun learning new techniques for icing your cakes. They look so good. William is going to have fun this summer...he will be running by then. I hope you can keep up with him. Have a Blessed week and thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьAwesome.
ОтветитьWhat a great video! I remember for the first two years after having my son thinking ‘what’s it all about’ ! It’s a massive change to your body & way of life, but slowly I began to emerge & re-start all the activities that made me ‘me’ Yes, I feel like, as a mother , you do lose a sense of identity through the intense nurturing at the start. William is a wonderful little boy, so well done you! Don’t forget you still have all this footage of him as a baby too ❤ PS see you on the 2023/4 Bake-Off ! 😊
ОтветитьMaybe he ism.t mine! You absolutely made me laugh out loud while my granddaughters are asleep! I should be asleep, also:). Greetings from Juneau, Alaska!
ОтветитьThe second resolution should have been to pay for iCloud storage 😂
ОтветитьThese struggles are real. Our culture has demonized motherhood through the promotion of women's liberation, sexual liberation of the 60's , career first obsession, just to name a few. This has lead women to struggle with feelings of insecurity in who they are as just mothers.
ОтветитьI remember when my children were about 2 years old that it suddenly struck me that they didn’t seem stuck to me like glue. I loved their babyhood time, but it was kind of wonderful that they had become able to play happily by their self for a bit. I could be more me. My “children” are now 50 and 47, ha ha ha! I have such great memories. ….. I loved this video, you captaining your boat and making clever frosted treats.
ОтветитьSuch a thoughtful, meditative video. One of your best. It makes me miss the Boat Tubers who've gone Ashore, most permanently, some have disappeared altogether. Narrowboat Experience, Cruising The Cut, Silver Foxes, London Boat Girl, Narrowboat Adventures, Minimal List. Makes me wistful and sad. They all got me thru the mishandled covid pandemic in America. Current and years of past videos saved me. Please continue this wonderful work, it's almost 'art', it really helps us all, as much as it helps you grow with your young family. William will be a nautical old salt soon, an otter taken to water. Thank You All.
ОтветитьDid you get your phone out of the drink, the canal and try to salvage the drive? I now save my photos on phone and 2 different cloud storages because I've lost everything before.
Ответить👌👌👌👍.............................
ОтветитьLove you Jo! I related to all of these feelings. I am also VERY bad at being pregnant. Just a fountain of vomit lol. I have two little ones and lockdown started when my second was 6mo old. It was so hard to feel normal again. She is 3 now and I still don't quite feel normal again lol. Good luck on your cake journey!!
ОтветитьWe just want to thank you both for sharing so much of William in your videos. He makes us laugh so hard and we just love everything about him and how wonderful your parenting skills are. We have been watching your videos for a couple of years now and enjoy every one but the ones with William are our favorite!! Thank you!
Ответить❤
ОтветитьBeautiful film shots at the end guys! ❤
Ответить💜💙💚
ОтветитьMr Kipling the baker said something about triumph and disaster
ОтветитьGreat to see you in such a positive state of mind 🙂
ОтветитьLovely keep it up.
I am sure others have suggested keeping your mobile in a flotation bag since you are near so much water,
If it was me, I would be buying some of the chocolate and carrot cakes from Aldi, they are delicious but there again I don't cook.
I still think you should be looking at pancakes. They are always quick and taste delicious.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant !
Super, homely, family, Vlog !
William is getting a great upbringing, and education, meeting new people, seeing new places.
As he grows up, he will be more confident, and maybe a Famous, Master Pastry-chef, who knows ?
Take care,
Stay safe !
Stu xx
Bless you very talented lady x
ОтветитьWow very professional video well done you could make a living at this good luck guys and please enjoy every moment of your life good or bad and stay well away from this Rat Race we're in, good luck to you both and I hope you make lots o money this Summer stick at it.
ОтветитьIt's so beautiful on the canal
ОтветитьReally lovely video! Look after yourself, having a kid is a big change and is going to affect your life!
ОтветитьSo glad to see you're feeling more yourself Joanna. From my experience with family and friends, more mothers feel this way after childbirth than society acknowledges.
ОтветитьIt renews my faith in humanity when you see the amazing people that you have around you in that community.
And for that young lady to be so generous in helping you, a relative stranger, is so cool to see. She truly does have some special skills in decorating, and so willing to give you hands in training is incredibly kind.
You guys truly are blessed. What an amazing life. New neighbour's every few day or weeks, or whenever you want. Waking up to whatever view you wish to have. The closest thing to that, what most people can even come close to, is a big screen TV with a whack load of different screen savers.
I'm not sure I could ever settle back into a fixed address after living that way, experiencing that kind of freedom.
You guys truly make it look easy, especially after watching you guys build a proper life out of it and with atleast 2 thriving businesses, maybe 3 with that online store.
Well done, truly well done
Great resolutions! Go girl! 🤗🤗
ОтветитьOh my goodness, you are a new mom, with a business to run. Be good to yourself. If I was William's grandma, I would be over the moon with all those photos! I love that you are learning new things, and finding your way back to "who" you are.
ОтветитьBeautiful little family 🥰💓💞💕❤️🔥
ОтветитьYour feelings are valid. Be careful of your mental health.
ОтветитьFANTASTIC making, baking, creating, icing, living with your child and family on boats... I found you a while ago and have just caught up a bit with SEVILLE / Lisbon trips, where the last I went to about 25 years ago after a work exchange outside off Lisboa, so then I took advantage and paid for an extension and truly loved riding the train to SINTRA, the old town of LIsboa where authentic dishes were deicious... but too afraid alone to stay awake for Fado i walked back to my hotel. I have just returned from driving solo to Seville, and obviously sleeping 5 nights in two nearby places in my van on street parking. Risky but I was safe. Lucky to find the correct area. Earlier there was a disturbing situation where a man ran to the van as I went to park which was zoned, rapping on my window until a decorator told him to clear off. In the city I noticed how tourists get charged for parking their vehicles! Not always safely! The police are often on the case to prevent this happening. I love Seville, the kind people, the architecture, the orange trees of Andalusia which I also drove through. mmmm it would be interesting to stay on a barge! Yes time to return to Portugal from France. I love Europe! I think the video and camera shots are very creative and of a high standard. When you go to new places it is sometimes nice to hear the local sounds. Perhaps, sometimes let the sounds of nature or city or town shine through ..... or silence of moments on the water. Life is an art and you are both artistic, steady and kind people cutting through the waters of making a living. Blessings.
ОтветитьI have been so busy with work, I have so much to catch up on! William is so grown up, our son just turned 1 and it's crazy first seeing your videos and not being a parent, and now watching them with him! I hope you're all well, and continue making great content.
ОтветитьYou and your family are so real and delightful.I have a William as a first born…love yours too. His wow says it all. Stick to your dreams….love to each of you! Thanks…for all you do!
ОтветитьWell done Jo those viennese whirls were amazing dont ever under estimate your skills as you are so good love to you Vic and William stay safe 😊😊
ОтветитьI like the text at the end! Adds a different storytelling element & your channel’s “voice” still comes through - especially ze humour.
