One of the main features of nomadic life is seasonal migration—a yearly journey that follows the rhythm of nature and the changing seasons. Grandmother’s family is no exception to this tradition. They have recently moved from their old summer pasture to a new settlement along the mountain slopes. The tents have been pitched, the livestock have settled, but a sense of permanence has yet to take hold. In the midst of this transition, Naseroo gazes anxiously toward the horizon. His wife is about to give birth, and he knows there isn’t much time left to build their house—a shelter that will protect his wife and newborn from the mountain’s wind and rain. He is determined to finish it as soon as possible. Today, Sadegh , his cousin, has come to help. From the break of dawn, he and Naseroo have been working side by side, cutting branches, tying ropes, and raising the frame of the house. Within this very act of migration—with all its restlessness and temporary constructions—the nomads find a deeper meaning in life: a life defined by movement, by hope, and by solidarity.
