Our Master Plan

The Town of Flower Mound recently started reviewing the Master Plan, specifically the land use portion, through a community engagement process. This process is not intended to change the current document, but to discuss ways in which it can be effectively implemented and to focus on four specific areas which have been identified as important to creating the most value for the Town while achieving the vision of the Master Plan. The four areas are: the Denton Creek District, the Cross Timbers Conversation Development District, the Lakeside Business District, and the FM 2499 Commercial Corridor, between FM 1171 and FM 407.

The major community engagement aspect will occur during a series of Town-wide community meetings. Through community engagement, the Town is able to provide a framework for early public involvement, promote diverse participation, and active engagement. Audience polling will be used to gauge knowledge and guide discussion of specific focus areas in addition to measuring opinions on a variety of issues. The Town has scheduled two community-wide meetings for September 19 at 7 p.m. and September 21 at 10 a.m. The venue has not been chosen and is dependent upon the number of RSVPs received. It is important to RSVP through the Town's informational "Our Master Plan" website at www.flower-mound.com/ourmasterplan in order for Staff to secure the appropriate venue. The Town has also created an Our Master Plan: Strengthening the Vision Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ourmasterplan2013 to engage in additional discussion.
