How to Play REAL, Physical Cartridge Games on your PC!

i'm able to get the game and can see the demo on my pc. but can't get the game to start ? how do you do that ?

like if i were to save a game when playing the cart on computer would i be able to plug it into a console and reload the save from the cartridge and vice versa?

It's great if you are a game collector but other then that it's not useful you'd be cheaper of getting a rom file but it's still cool to have.

They should make a disc drive version of this for GameCube Wii and WiiU, Gamecube and Wii shouldn’t be to hard considering they run the same software via a Wi, WiiU however would be harder

I love this concept, however I would so love to own something similar to the Retrode but directed towards the Commodore 64. If we could get a USB device that reads the Commodore cartridges and/or the 5.25" floppy disks that would be amazing! Especially for the C64 Maxi.

Looking for a Switch cartridge reader

I know I'm coming to this very late. Retrode is impossible to find nowadays. I only just got into the PC world. I have a large collection of cartridges that are decent to use, with sometimes questionable save batteries. I am just not proficient enough at tech wrangling to get an old rig for ripping the ROMs. I'm really not sure what I can do. I don't endorse piracy. Folks generally plead the fifth, as far as whether it's done in some cases.

for me it's waste of money the better option is downloading in one disk and save another back up

Hello. I am 44 years old, and I remember very well a magazine in the 90's, where something similar appeared that was placed in the 5.25" bay of a PC to play NES. Don't you know about that device and its name?

Can you make romhack games after dumping NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 games on PC? When I was about 11 years old in 1994, I played JRR Tolkien Lord of the Rings Volume 1, and I also read the 3 Lord of the Rings book and playing it again. I'm very disappointed in the Interplay SNES version and I want to make 2 video game romhacks of it. I also want to make an NES romhack of Back to the Future II & III and fix the game so it's improved and more playable with a save feature and makes it easier to play and turn off the annoying bird and bat audio.

I plan on making 2 Lord of the Rings SNES romhack games Fellowship of the Ring and Scouring of the Shire and replace the password system with a save game feature and have a map feature and make AI characters better and also fix the rushed ending so it covers 3 more chapters from the book and go to Amon Hen ending, also have a Scouring of the Shire storyline in part 2 SNES. The only thing I need to know is how do I alter the Lord of the Rings game so that it follows the Fellowship of the ring book and the Scouring of the Shire including having Boromir as a playable character and have video cutscenes when it teleports characters inside a building, also to remove the annoying locked gates and door and also to fight the Ringwraith's at Weathertop. I'm not a video game maker expert but I really want to make video games including my own Critter Doodles games using Games Factory 2, RPG Maker or some other game making program.

Also I want to edit Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time to remove the audio of Navi's annoying voice so that she's a mute character instead. Let me know what you think.

I heard if you dump cartridge based games on PC, you run the risk of them being unplayable on real hardware. Is this true? If so, is there a way to avoid it?

Hey NintenDrew!!! I’m considering selling my video game collection for financial reasons, I’m not ready to part from them just yet. Is there a way to replicate the game cartridge data from a physical copy to the pc? I still want access to play my old games but I need to sell the physical media.
