Wow
ОтветитьMy biggest price of advice is aps-c struggles a bit even in semi low light. You need a light bar or pannel even in golden hour sometime with apsc whereas with full frame you do not. Only big downfall for apsc and I know you can get a nifty 50 with a f1.2 but what happens when you don't want extreme bokeh in every picture? You buy a full frame...
Also.... Yeah high megapixel cameras have more noise but it's only when you pixle peep, but the high megapixel camera has a clearer image and still has the benefit of handeling low light better regardless. There's a video breaking that down saying it's a myth. A7s vs a7r noise
Thank you for such a simplistic explanation of sensors. I was almost completely convinced that I needed a full frame camera. I did not want to dish out that kind of coin at this point. I really think APS-C may be the way to go for my needs. Thanks again.
ОтветитьThank you for the explanation of the difference between the Full and APS-C cameras. I was thinking that you must buy a Full frame if budget allowed to have a good image, but I was wrong. now, I may able to get the camera "I need" with better price and just spend the extra money to the extra lenses :) Mahalo
ОтветитьThanks for the excellent video.
I shoot full-frame, APS-C, and micro 4/3. All work well.
This is good advice.
ОтветитьI don't remember hearing full frame vs cropped frame being better in low light. It was always about the lens's F-stop.
I'm still stuck on moving up to a full frame. I think only thing I'll be seeing a benefit is at a bday party getting large groups or not standing so far back when taking photos of a ferriswheel. lol
Many thanks. I understand that full frame can be better for wedding, concert, portrait and astrophotography specially for professionals but for me as a amateuer photographer the aps-c fullfills all my needs for cheaper price. Besides its lighter and smaller, too. I startet with a used A6000 with kit-lens for 260 EUR. Step by step I bought good lenses and switched to the A6400. The day will come an I get a A6700. But for now I can do all the things I want to do, landscape, cityscape (at night), milky way, macro, some portraits (therefore I have 1.4 primes). For me it´s the complete right decison I get bothering I someone tells me that if I would only one time use a fullframe, I would never look back. My experience shows me that this people instead of work on their creativity would prefer to buy better gear, or they think, that a picture is only good if you can zoom in 200% an alls ist razorsharp. Other think that only a big bokeh is the measure for good photo. They shoot their cat or dog but sharp is ony everything until the ears. Can be a good photo, but not every time. You named it, the "full frame look". So I´m happy if someone who works with both systems is telling the truth. There are advantages and disadvantes of both systems, but to be honest, in the most cases a aps-c would be enough for the most amateuer photographers if the reasons are not the better ev or the bigger or more buttons. But it does not care me what the reasons of other photographers are, I´m totally ok with it.
ОтветитьNo offense at all but, you were talking quite fast and not concise and I honestly couldn’t understand some of the stuff you were saying.
Ответитьgood work bro 💥
ОтветитьIf you add a 30mm APSC lens on a APSC camera, wouldn’t the focal length stay the same as 30mm?
ОтветитьThis was actually the best explanation I’ve seen. I especially like that you walked through every step of determining how much crop the photographer will see based on the measurements and how they defer between hardware types. Thank you so much. You did this like an engineer would explain a complex system, and I love it!
ОтветитьExcellent explanation
ОтветитьThank you for explaining this.
ОтветитьAppreciate the breakdown bro
ОтветитьThe difference between those 2 cameras in low light noise is about 1 and a half stop.
That`s quite a difference. The fullframe also has more than a stop more dynamic range. That`s nice to have.
I think the native fullframe lenses for sony are allmost always better than the crop version.
i am impressed with your knowledge and appreciate you thanks nikon d-3100
ОтветитьThe amount of useful information you provided in these 13 minutes is incredible! Great discussion!!!
Ответитьbro... You single handedly saved me a ton of money. I currently have a Sony A6400, and was looking into a full frame under the impression that the pixels mattered so much more than on an APS-C. Your video explained what no other video I've found could explain so well and in great detail without being too complicated to understand. Instead of buying a Sony full frame, I may just look into purchasing the A6700 and upgrading from my current A6400.
It makes so much more sense now just to stick with an APS-C camera over going full frame, unless maybe I'm wrong? I'm so used to shooting with this camera and I've shot several air shows and concerts with great success. Now it doesn't seem like switching to a full frame camera would really benefit me in any way, correct me if I'm wrong. But I feel like the A6700 could fit my needs far better than going full frame since it's a sensor size I've grown very familiar with. I also have several lenses and a Sony G 70-300 lens that was made for the APS-C sensors.
Do you think it's best for me to stick with them, or get a full frame?
Well done
ОтветитьAskin All Them Questions Makin Statements...ASSUMIN
Ответитьappreciate you , man
ОтветитьCan you explain this to me like i'm 5?
ОтветитьThanks, now I have even more questions.
Ответитьsounds like renting a full frame first might be a good idea for some people
ОтветитьAbsolutely brilliant Sir!; arguably one of the best explanations on the differences !; well done!
ОтветитьQuality to price APSC wins everytime. You usually pay double for full frame but the quality doesnt double you just capture a slightly wider angle. Body and lenses cost a lot more. My 20mm full frame lens was $650. My apsc 10-25mm was $50.... Quality is basically the same with good light. I shot my shoe collection videos with both. Some of my shoe videos were shot in apsc and some on full frame. I know no one knows which ones are which lol. I just framed them the same by moving back. Im glad you brought up the "low light" morons, well add some light dum dum lol. We all do it in pro shoots we add light and use flash lol.
ОтветитьGreat explanation and analogy
ОтветитьGreat video - this is the 5 years of gathering the info myself broken down all in one place. The only thing is I think it’s for someone who has already started putting concepts together rather than a complete novice.
ОтветитьThank you for explaining in s short video, what countless # of articles and other videos on Full Frame vs APS-C could not!
ОтветитьYou mention newer apsc cameras being much better… how far back would you consider newer cameras to have been released? Just curious as I have a Nikon D7500 that was released in 2017.
ОтветитьBest breakdown video I have seen
ОтветитьThis man knows photos, like I am watching a college level photography class.
ОтветитьDang, you are an excellent teacher. This is the best explanation of the differences between full frame and aps-c sensors and their effects that I have ever heard. thank you. I just subscribed.

ОтветитьSo if i get a Nikon D7100 with Sigma 30mm f1.4 I won't be able to take photos or video of Northern lights in darkness?
Ответитьbrilliantly concise. thanks for demystifying it all for me - saved me some money too!
ОтветитьYO! You just got another subscriber. This was a very well put together and clear (understandable) video. I've yet to hear someone layout full frame vs aps-c the way you did in this video.
ОтветитьAmazing video! Very insightful! I learned a lot ! God bless!
ОтветитьNice overview. I’m sticking with my APSC, even though I’d love a Full Frame.
Ответитьno need to look further I have been informed, thank you this is the one of the best explanations ive ever seen
ОтветитьThis video was extremely informative. Easy sub. 💪🏽
ОтветитьBro you’re explanations are always so clear and you always show that you know what you’re talking about, I gotta commend you
ОтветитьEven entry level cameras like the R50, a6400, z30/50 are wonderful these days. You really aren't compromising a whole lot in terms of photos by going with them and not that significant of a loss for video. Sure there are professional workflow advantages with the more expensive ones. But a skilled photographer can get a better image of an A 6000 than an amateur can get out of an a 1.
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks for that. You explained it so a two-year-old could understand. Great job. You helped me a lot. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks man.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks. Good analogies: imo if you own a bus and drive a bus, you're not going to know what it's like to not drive a bus and you'll adapt just fine. I have an APS-C (X-T5) and because I don't have full frame in the other hand comparing the same exact shots, I don't ever even think about it and still produce shots that I love.
ОтветитьBy far the most simple and to the point explanation! Subed... Thanks!
ОтветитьNicely explained.. thank you!
