It’s funny to see grown ass adults do mental gymnastics trying to explain how Plato’s fictional story that’s meant as a metaphor is somehow a real place🤣 if it’s real why can’t the Atlantis believers give us solid proof? It’s been years at this point yet Jimmy can’t point to any concrete evidence. In all of the locations they say Atlantis existed or could’ve been, we found Native American bones or arrowheads yet we can’t find ancient advanced tools? Just makes zero sense. The funny part is they’re grown adults that can’t even give 1 single evidence that proves Atlantis was a real place.

There's actually archeological evidence of humans and other homo species living there that date from a million years ago right up to the present day. According to an article, the Cyclades Islands are part of the Cyclades Plateau, which was above the water before 8,000 BC, and is a good, if not the best, candidate for Atlantis.
If so, the Aegean Sea is the actual Atlantic Sea ("pontos"), not "ocean" ("okeanos"), word which Plato never used. Therefore, the name of the Atlantic Ocean should be changed to something else.

Geologists don’t throw numbers around. There is serious research behind the explanation of the Richat Structure. Use google scholar. It formed long ago and wasn’t under water since humanity existed. I can only shake my head with this guys false information on the salt as well.

Although this video does a great job of explaining what could be heavy evidence of the Lost City of Atlantis, there are a couple small flaws in the explanation that could lead to pseudoarcheological findings. When guest, Jimmy Corsetti, was explaining the satellite imagery, he kept recycling through the idea that because of the erosion and salt left over from where the ocean had been surrounding the Richat Structure, it had to have been evidence of a big cataclysmic event that wiped out the then Great City. This evidence of erosion and salt is 100% evidence of an event that has happened as stated by Jimmy Corsetti, but it does not completely satisfy the idea that the area they are talking about was in fact the lost civilization because there is no suitable evidence of people, just stories by Plato that have been passed down. I feel as though this satellite image does a good job of supporting the evidence of a big event that had happened and created this crater and can be involved in the natural change of the earth; however, it shouldn’t be used as clear evidence that Atlantis was in that area. There can also be a probability vs. possibility argument here, as the evidence is stacked towards the idea that Atlantis is a containment of both probability and possibility. The probability that Plato’s stories were 100% true cannot be very high, as many things over time have been lost in translation, but the possibility of the truth to these stories meets a solid conviction as the maps do meet a certain resemblance. So when it comes to the truth of Atlantis, we can get as close as we want to the idea of the truth or as far away as we want. It’s all whatever you want to believe.

The Richat Structure in Mauritania, in the northwest corner of Africa within the Sahara desert, seems to fit into many of the pieces of Plato’s puzzle. Unfortunately, any archaeological digs in this site are forbidden at this time, not even the use of ground-penetrating radar is allowed by the Mauritanian government.

In Plato’s Critias Section 115b: there are “… fruits having a hard rind, affording drinks and meats and ointments …” in Atlantis. Those fruits suggest the coconut tree. The northernmost distribution of coconuts are found in Mauritania, and that would rule out locations further north such as in Crete or areas around the Mediterranean Sea.

“Orichalcum” was dug out of the earth in many parts of the land. (Critias: 114e). “Orichalcum” was unknown to the Greeks, and “flashed” with “red light”, like fire. Atlantis had an abundance of minerals: gold, silver, copper, tin and “orichalcum”. These ores are also found in Mauritania. Orichalcum was a “... more precious mineral than anything except gold” . This may have been an alloy containing copper, zinc, nickel, lead, and iron. Again, Mauritania contains large deposits of these mineral ores, copper, gold and iron. Not minerals commonly found in the Mediterranean area. The white, black and red colored stones mentioned by Plato can also be found in Mauritania.

The hydrothermal springs that Plato described, of hot and cold water. Richat Structure has been classified by geologists as a hydrothermal complex. So it could have produced springs of hot and cold water.

According to Plato, there were a great number of elephants in Atlantis. This also suggest Africa instead of areas further north.
