I still here people saying the Perth Mint sold doped gold to China. It was the 99.99 gold and the .01 was mostly silver, and not a mix of metals copper etc. The story was a nothing burger, Perth mint extremely good refiner

You wonder if the ABC news story, was enabled by the fact that their journalists are just dumb, didn't understand the fine grain detail of the term pure gold, so it wasn't a plot to attack the mint or the idea of gold buying. That said the ABC is globalist and extreme leftist, which is an ethos that wants the plebs to own nothing and like the marxist redistributionist utopia.

I have 10 1oz Perth mint gold bars in assay. Tested good.

There are refining methods that could get you to 100%, but they're going to be prohibitively expensive; and only used in rare circumstances.

We're at the point technologically where stable individual atoms can be inspected and manipulated if needed.

I have yet to see a Perth Mint product I didn't like. Come to think of it I haven't seen a product from the Australian Mint I didn't like too! Quality that few can match!

That 2017 swan is my ideal of the perfect gold coin. Wish they made a 1/4oz.

Perth is the last mint I would suspect of fraud. They're the Rolls Royce of private mints and that reputation is their bread and butter.

I like the Austrailian Mint. Their coins and bars are generally nicer looking than many other mints with lower premiums.
