For my kind of use (indoor range shooting, computer webcam, etc.), I think I'm going to stick with the Hero 8. Thank you, you've been a great help for deciding to pick it.

Edit: A part of me is craving for sharper looking images though; 12 MP isn't a lot, even if it gets the job done. But if you want to see sand grains, consider getting something better than the 8.

wow - and the DJI does look sharper - amazing stabilization! The Go Pro is better on the cinematic sample thogh - by a LOT. That might be a dealbreaker for me on the DJI which makes me feel sick on that footage. Too bad! Everything else is more amazing with it.

DJI ACTION 2: I wanted to know if with the piece detached from the video camera you could see what you are filming with the wifi connection. If you can't do it wouldn't it have been great if you could do it?? Have some kind of external monitor to see what is being filmed!!! Can they do it with an update or is it impossible because it's just a hardware issue??

Is it just me or does DJI have oversharpened video? As for the horizon stabilization and other effects, I'm willing to do those in post if I can get better video quality that way.

Why does the sky get ‘bluer’ towards the top-middle of the shot. The GoPro has a more consistent sky colour across the shot. It’s weird once you notice it

Gopro is used by motogp rider thats why by perception it will always be better. But if any sane person look at this video they will choose Dji if they knew the price difference. Its just perception
