I think the wood is going to get worn more than steel skewing the angle i.e. grinding the back-end of the bevel no?

Pretty silly since every chisel has a different angle ,… I real don’t believe you’re going to make one for every chisel you own unless that’s the only chisel you own….🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hollow grinding allows multiple follow-up honings before regrinding. This method means you are laboriously regrinding the entire face every time the chisel gets dull.
How do you measure sharpness anyway ?? 🤷‍♂

For all the guy commenting…a hacksaw!?…different countries use different saws. That saw was the appropriate profile and tpi count to cut that wood that way.

First run it over a grinder wheel hollow out the bevel. Then buy a cheap chisel sharpener holder/roller. The square the edge and roll it until you have a good edge with a hollow on the blade.

Real way: few touches of the belt sander (dont blacken the tip) then run it over a fine stone, get a leather strop if you want to go sharper. Forget this jig. Using chizels since i was 12 and im 35 now. Thousands of doors fitted, thosands of joints made.

Here in Russia, the working edge of the chisel is sharpened not at 90 degrees relative to the body of the chisel, but slightly obliquely.

GETTING a chisel as sharp as a razor is one thing and there are many ways to achieve this (every male woodworker has a series of rectangular bald patches on his arm from testing razor sharp chisels). Whether one can maintain this sharpness depends on the quality of steel. This is good but there are already so many videos on achieving "scary" sharp edges and many viewers will be disappointed because they cannot achieve the same results on cheap chisels. What is needed are videos on SELECTING good chisels to begin with.
When you buy cheap chisels, you'll never be short of something with which to prise open tins of paint. Research brands or buy old antique edge tools (even quality modern tool companies cannot afford to invest in the time to make their own steel these days). The sharpest chisels and plane irons I have were made around 1900 or earlier. They all get sharpened and honed the same way... but they're not all MADE the same way.
