Eric Schmidt is wrong.
1. Light based semiconductors which use light, instead of electricity are orders of magnitude faster, with dramatically reduced power requirements. They don't require EUV machines. Light based chips is the holy grail of computing because all of the physical limitations of convential semiconductors disappear when you use light. And note that Chinese researchers have announced a light-based chip 3,000 times faster than NVidia's best chip. It's going to get worse as China becomes even better at making its own lithography machines.
2. Unless Eric Schmidt has surpassed the Russians, who are the best at warfare against peer competitors and to inform those ignorant Americans, first of all, the US or the Allied troops fought 10 Nazi divisions, the Soviets fought more than 200 Nazi divisions. You don't beat peer competitors with "wonder weapons" you beat peer competitors because of the alighment of strategies, operations and tactics. Something that the US has for the most part forgotten as its ecoonomy has been financialised. As for his comment about the Russian army killing innocent Ukrainian civilians, I would suggest that Mr. Schmidt look at the figures of innocent civilians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon by a certain country who we blindly support and compare that to the total number of civilians killed in Ukraine since Feb 2022. It tells its own story.

Eric is full of himself

This doesn't seem that controversial but he's definitely an example of the problem with our system. He's can tolerate infinite risk without the remotest chance of losing his privileged position. His biggest investments are all trying to do more with less which he sees it as supporting even more innovatiom. It also risks making progressive waves of graduates obsolete so instead of raising us all up it just abandons whole cohorts. He doesn't have to do the work just invest in it and write papers for think tanks so of course the future looks rosy to him.
