Thank you for having Suzannah on your podcast - can't wait to read her new book. Listening to the two of you talk about changing attitudes toward the Queens makes me think of my own ideas - when I was much younger it used to frustrate me and make me angry - I'd ask myself - why wouldn't Catherine just go away and understand that her husband didn't want her any more. As I reach middle age, I realize what it must have been like to see her husband fall under the spell of a much younger, more attractive and perhaps more "modern" thinking woman. I now see Catherine as not just a woman hanging on to her religious beliefs but a woman trying to hang on to her status, her livelihood and the disbelief at what her husband was doing to her. So we change.

I am an American decendant of Henry Norris an important person to Henry VIII and implicit in Anne Boylen's trial. His effigy and his brother's are in Westminster Cathedral. They are the exact image of my dad and uncle. Amazing how that could happen after all these centuries.
