Incredible. You don't need to know much about model railways to appreciate this masterpiece. My only remark is the humans could have less saturated colors to better blend in with the realistic environment.

Anyone could watch this video 200 times and not see it all. Incredible It's by far the most detailed layout I've ever seen. The weathering is absolutely stunning. The only correct way to watch this is to stop and start and view it frame by frame

I have watched 1000s of model train layouts,and this is by far the best one I've ever seen. The realilizem is Disney-esk. I'm not sure Disney could top this. I believe the nudity is a little over the top, especially for a model train layout,but there isn't a close second to what's been done on this. They knocked it out of the park

The engines and rolling stock are impressive but the mechanical animation is exquisite in scale appearance and realism of movement. The realism of buildings and people figures beyond amazing. Keeping this all working must require as much skill as the original building and "tweaking" to get it working as desired. Congratulations to all involved.

Not sure what time era this is representing . If it's any time before 1940 you have a vehicle that shouldn't be there. A Jeep and they weren't available to the public till after the war as surplus. Still an awesome display . With so much detail. Sorry I saw it and couldn't help myself to comment. I love finding those Easter eggs.

This layout is amazing. Positively amazing.

"Best and most detailed in the world" - a big statement which sits with "the ultimate (fit whatever you want here 4WD, speedboat, etc.)" claim.

Certainly a well executed layout but please spare us the term "Best... in the World" as you insult a large number of talented modellers out there.

As an example have a look at Bob Poli's Fn3 Westside layout where the buildings. locos and rolling stock are scratch built replicas of the real thing - and he doesn't have to resort to twee nude women and the like.

And for well execution of animations on a layout search for Gordon Gravett's "End of the Line".

Or have a look at Tom's Trains and Things feature on Dan Pickard and John Hunter's "Dolly Varden" - originally exhibited in Australia and now with e new owner in the US.

That climax engine makes a lot of sound but no smoke. The very reason I hate sounds on railroads especially the tinny sound of HO scale. Other than that the models are very realistic with a lot of detail which is beneficial in large scales.

The quality of the detail is remarkable, but though I saw some outstanding bit and pieces, I never saw the layout.

This isn't just a model train; this is a time machine. Took me back to my childhood in the 40's. Obviously, this is a true American treasure and should probably windup in the Smithsonian Museum at some point to be taken care of forever and ever.

Boy, I'll tell you what. If my Daddy was still alive, he'd be happier than a pig in mud to see this in person. The amount of detail is incredible. He was WAY into Model trains for years and would hand carve his own mountians and paint them the right color, add each tree and make sure they were just right. He did N scale which is much smaller than this. He'd be right there with you guys running those train, comig up wth Train schedules and a Duty roster for the day for each locamotive.
