Daniel Johns is a amazing writer, Diorama is a masterpiece. Neo ballroom the kids grew up. Daniel furturenever is amazing.

Silverchair Rocked when it came out I was hooked to the group Frogstomp album was totally awesome!!

Man Frogstomp and Freak Show would be the stuff I what to hear at a Reunion show.

Anthem for the Year 2000 hit young anxty me deep, and get me into the band. But Ana's Song hit me hard and helped me accept my situation and get some help. Over the years it's resonated more and more.

I didnt liked Diorama....except maybe one song on it. freak Show was the best album. Everything after that, newer stuff was just ( Sorry) the biggest crap ever. But "The DIssociatives" also was good.

Frogstomp is probably one of the best debut album from a band.
Freakshow goes deeper again and is really brilliant !
Then, their lost their ways...

Once Paul Mac got involved, Daniel started to drift away from Silverchair.

Young modern complete album is amazing.

Freak Show was my fave as that was what I was into at the time.

I liked their style on Frogstomp the best, but I would say that Neon Ballroom was probably their best album. I only liked a couple of songs off the last two albums. I really didn't care for them. I'm not a big fan of keyboards and synthesizers. That takes me out of it.

E.D.? Give me a bloody break...smh.. just say EATING DISORDER.. Really daft.. thumbs down on this just because of E.D.

I would not call Diorama a masterpiece... or claim young modern is good. Just give me their first 3 albums.

I love all of Silverchair albums. You hear Daniel maturing as a songwriter and arranger. But if you twisted my arm Neon Ballroom and Diorama are the ones I have on repeat. The sonic aesthetic is incredible.

Rise and fall? It was children enjoying their ride and they changed lanes. Bands coming and going and music label politics is not a fall, it is a lane change.

Eve 6 was in the same situation. I remember being at the Bomb Factory in Dallas when they came to do a medium venue tour and were so young they had to sit outside in Deep Ellum in the freezing cold to do their set due to age restrictions over alcohol when they released Inside out in 98. The difference is the guys from Eve continued touring and growing, Silverchair moved on. Big deal. Daniel was awesome and loved his craft until labels pushed him too far. It was great at the time.

This band was nothing but made up to ride the grunge wave.

They toured with and headlined for local H i dont remembered redhot chili peppers being there in the beginning

Silverchair was born as a grunge band (I also think Daniel's voice was "designed" for that). Changing style much definitely wouldn't work.
Also I think they lacked a good manager to manage the egos and Daniel's mental disorders.

I think Frogstomp from Silverchair is more like Alice in Chains than Nirvana.
The rest doesn't sound neither like Nirvana nor like anyone else. It was quite unique.

Suicidal dream is first in line on my playlist, now and forever...

I am a keyboard player on my mud sixties now. When i heard Diorama then my impression was that it was silverchairs 'Sgt Pepper'. Fabulous album.
