The 2019 version was good I liked that Andy was a little bit older and it was fucking amazing

late comment but I really don't like how the 2019 remake was made despite Mancini not wanting it to be instead it just was a cash grab to me Chucky is Mancini's creation and the fact they made the movie against his thoughts on it I really don't like (no hate to the cast and crew tho they looked like they really enjoyed making the film)

You thought the original version of the remake was gone oh no no no my friend to the end of 3C because one of my good friends is working on a fan film called child's Play reincarnation in which we will be adding in this elements from the the original 2010 remake so I know you don't cover fan films I understand that buddy but at least give this a watch and review it because he's putting the ideas of Don's original version of the remake into his script into the fan film child's Play reincarnation it will be coming out in the next at least few years so when it does come out definitely give this a watch and review it chris

Wonder how the remake would’ve turned out, I hope there are early drafts that Don Mancini was working on. It’s unfortunate we didn’t get the remake though since MGM owned the rights to the first Chucky film. In an alternate universe we did👍🏻

Why didn't the Childs play
2019 canon into the main timeline? They would have just had to change the names of the characters and then everything would work out, I would even think it was extremely cool.

i’m glad they didn’t do this. the child’s play franchise is one of the only horror franchise to be consistent in its contiunity(except child’s play 2019). every movie has led to the next and i really like that, so i’m glad they decided to not reboot the franchise

Instead of remaking the first movie, they should’ve remade child’s play 3, the idea of placing a killer doll in a military school has potential but child’s play 3 was rushed too quickly which made the movie suffer, giving it more time would do it very nicely

I will admit though i like original and all its continuations. I did just watch the remake and some points made me sad for the character.

As a kid I too afraid to even look at chucky on the tv and I had nightmare about dolls coming alive. Now I’m a super fan, I just don’t think I could ever have a full sized doll in my house. 😂😅

Oooohhhh.. in regards to MGM owning the original Child's Play but not the sequels, is that why most of the chucky merch is promoted as "Child's Play 2" and not just "Child's Play"?

I started with seed that's why I got into chucky. I understand the disappointment but I don't think the movie was made for long time fans but younger fans too get into the serise and for me atleast Mann it worked

The main problem with the 2019 remake when you cut out the supernatural elements. It’s complete fantastical BS.

The backstory behind the doll being an over engineered autonomous nanny-cam, would mean it would realistically be quite light and therefore fragile. (especially when they show them leaving it with a baby etc.)

It was a smart move they did what they did.

If they could possibly release the original reboot of childs play like the snyder cut of justice league it could be like this...

I’m sorry bro. Literally nothing about the 2019 movie was good or enjoyable in any way. It was a steaming hot pile of garbage. I could write an essay on why this was completely horrible in every way. They changed it from a possession to AI gone bad, and the entire reason it went bad was because some guy couldn’t stay awake on the job and his boss calls him worthless, so the guy overrides safety protocols and then kills himself. The doll itself looks fucking horrible, the way they portrayed Chucky is horrible, and dammit they made him sing. Like…unironically. They wrote a “buddi” song. They changed the damn name of the doll too, and had the audacity to call it a child’s play movie, even if it was a remake. The entire cast of characters sucked, I didn’t like a single one of them for any reason. Either they were complete assholes, or pathetic attempts at comedic relief, or just straight up creeps, Andy was a dick, his mom was a shitty excuse of a mother, her boyfriend had no redeeming qualities and no reason to be kept around, and Andy’s friends were just annoying. I can not begin to explain, even with all of that, how absolutely shit the 2019 movie is and I regret ever having seen it. It was an appalling waste of 90 minutes and it’s insulting to even consider it a true Chucky movie, remake or not. Please, anyone in the comments who hasn’t seen the 2019 yet, save yourself the time and just avoid it. I thought I hated seed, but dear god the 2019 made that movie look fucking amazing. -10/10 would not recommend

I think they should have followed the original plan. I came up on the voodoo Chucky and saw all of them growing up. I didn’t like the total change of chucky in design ! I feel the original was much better and the remake was a fake wannabe baller blocker

Thank god they didn't remake it,and instead created sequels and a TV show. Other franchises can learn from Childs Play, it's better to continue with sequels using the OG cast and bringing in new characters then remaking a sub poar version of the original. I wish more franchises would follow Don Mancini's lead.

I think we have so much of the serial killer Chucky, a whole franchise of movies and tv series, so the remake was refreshing and I love it.
It had so much heart and emotion more than any of the rest. You felt sorry and compasion for Chucky, the Buddi doll, because it didn't really understand what it was doing. It had a certain innocence about it, the doll just wanted to protect Andy and it wasn't evil. It was cute and also tragic, like a loyal dog lashing out on instinct. I found the remake so endearing.

As for Mancini, he's a total hack. He keeps promising a more dark and scary Chucky and he never delivers, he just pushes his own woke political views and uses Chucky as a woke character now turning Chucky into a JOKE. So, he's a liar and continues to lie and tell fans they'll definitely make a scary and dark Chucky movie fans never get.

It sounds awesome. I mean, it's kind of disappointing that it wasn't made but that's pretty Kruger's problem. The movie was bad to begin with. The remake of nightmare on nome street was bad.

Think it would have something to do with the new A. I we had in 2010 Just like the buddy doll and the 2019 remake, it would be similar to the buddy doll. Diamond scene couldn't even be accepted.
