I've turned down every opportunity to travel to Hawaii as a tourist, but I want to go. I've never been anywhere with warm tropical water, but I will only go if I'm invited by a local. This also applies to places where tourism is problematic for the local population. I would love it if my fellow Americans would join me.
ОтветитьBasic needs are massive and this is very interesting and helpful. The biggest issue though is corruption in the government, censorship, inability to express oneself, and the economic need of free market pressure that coincides with this. Centralization of power is exactly the problem that causes this. Needing spiritual renewal, stopping the gangs-- what is happening in El Salvador and Argentina is what is needed. Thank you for the reporting.
ОтветитьWhy do you talk so much sh*t about PAYING tourism but you talk nothing about cartels? You realize tourism mostly just pays the cartels, not locals... riiiiight?
I know, you're probably afraid to disappear... But you're not even looking at the REAL problem.
The cartels are propping up everything overpriced, to wash their money.
Tourism is a modern scourge. Fuck drones too.
ОтветитьPersonas comu tú Bianca van a hacer cambios al denunciar el abuso que siempre ha existido. Casi todos los gobiernos del mundo trabajan para proteger los intereses de las corporaciones y personajes con contactos y/o poder económico.
ОтветитьCooperations make money and the ultra rich get richer.
ОтветитьDevelopment v exploitation. The governments of developing nations such as Mexico, carrebian andany African countries face this dilemma. In my view the development is crucial to the locals because it creates opportunities. However, the terms of engagement with the multinational compnies and investors alike shou be scrutinized, every deal should benefit the local communties. When this isn't the case the fault is on the government not the companies, you can shout "gringo' all day and if you are ignorant and violence then the gringo will take his money somewhere else. Then, fight your own government make them accountable then maybe change will take place. Lets fight our own systems of governance rather than the "gringo'
ОтветитьOh, they are living in a dream. I would so much like to be able to post stickers reading
"CRIMINAL AND PARASITIC IMMIGRANTS GO HOME!" in my European city, without being punished by my own authorities.
And I stress again: I'm not talking about tourists who bring money, and I'm just complaining I don't get enough of that money. No, I'm talking about CRIMINALS. And parasites.
Don't recommend this channel.
Thank you.
I'm with the people on this one!
Being in Canada, Any Govt that starts calling people Racist is automatically Radical in my eyes!
And should be ousted immediately before they do irreparable damage!
eco-tourism , every cool place is now pimped out to the world. Great story thanks for expanding our awareness.
Even our local state park with a lake has kayak companies dropping of a dozen at a time. The youth in Iceland have no chance to buy a home, many homes now ABB to tourist. Probably owned by Marriott.
ya m suscribi y apoyandote siempre ...gracias por darnos a conocer esta realidad
ОтветитьAmazing ! Never let Corporation’s money silence you
ОтветитьNothing new. I lived in Florida when Disney world moved in fifty years ago. Same thing.
ОтветитьWhy then do we allow them to invade our country? The same thing is happening here in the U.S now!! Smh
ОтветитьTell them to take their 'new' ilkegals back home then!! We are sick of paying for them and their little vacations all over our country! Then they blame us for how their country is? Thats a bunch of crap!
Sickening, no water? who would want to even visit there? We can stay home and take a shower!
You're telling a story from only one perspective. Interview the Mexican land and property owners who have benefited. Interview the Mexican businesses that have benefitted. There was a time when tourism was encouraged and appreciated. Mexican locals were benefiting, Mexican businesses were benefiting. Mexican property owners were receiving more American dollars in rent for the same units rented to locals. Mexican land and property who are selling to "Gringos" are making FAT American dollars for their real estate. Those people and their families generationally benefit. In these areas Mexico real estate is as much or more than areas in the United States.
What you are talking about is greed. Greed has been around for a long time. It's the same issue everywhere where people want to be. It's simple supply and demand. You have something I would like, I have money to buy it, you get my money and I get your property. Multiply this 1000X over and this is where you end up.
Here's an example from the U.S. : When someone moves from expensive areas of California to a less expensive area in country - Idaho, Texas, Arizona, etc. When those people cash out in California and buy someplace else they can afford to pay more for housing, maybe even cash. This raises the cost of living for that town. Rents go up and the cost of homes go up. It makes purchasing a home less affordable for locals, BUT a "local" did profit and wanted to profit as much as possible.
The local person who sold the house to the new family moving from California profited. As well as the other "locals" who will then decide to sell their house to a rich Californian and so on and so on. Then someone jumps on social media and says, "Californian's stay home!, don't come to my State!", but of course locals who can benefit absolutely want that MONEY!!! Surely they would never turn down that fat wad of cash. They want the California money in their hands, the real estate agents want that fat commission, the home inspectors want that money, the title companies want that money, the home insurance agents want that money, local retailers when that increased revenue, etc.
Money: the root of all evil
ОтветитьUnrelated but she's an example of a 10 looks wise.
Ответить@BiancaGraulau Are you sure you know what you're talking about? If Marianna, the hotel worker is making $3748 in 2 weeks living in Mexico, she's definitely not poor but has a spending problem. If I'm wrong about the visual data you presented, feel free to correct me.
Ответить@BiancaGraulau you should put your brand logo at the corner of your video.
ОтветитьI'm learning a lot here. I appreciate your courage.
ОтветитьThis is a global issue, in Latinoamérica , I would say welcome to a never ending reality. The Azcarraga family is an empire almost to the level of Carlos Slim, these families should be the ones pushing for better living conditions for the locals....
ОтветитьWhy do they blame tourist when its their own people treating them as slaves? Its not like its cheap to go if rooms are above $300 per night
ОтветитьGreat Work!! Please don't give up on shinning light to these currupt cooporations!!.
ОтветитьGo and re-soot the video PENBDEJA, Because you first say you are a true reporter and then you act like a idiot that can thing, oh i can re-sooth the whole thing and whala!
ОтветитьI have been saying this for a long time and will continue to do so: tourism focus kills local cultures. Tourism focus kills local cultures. Tourism focus kills local cultures.
ОтветитьGracias, keep saying the truth.
ОтветитьI've known about this sort of greed based corruption, exploitation, and abuse for close to 50 years.
This is expected wherever you have oligarchies, as we've seen throughout Latin America. The patterns, and consequences, are crystal clear and predictable.
Between the oligarchs, and America, education reforms have deliberately stunted what, and to what degree, people are limited educationally. Contrary to what so many Americans, and others of European lineage, want to believe, Mexicans, and other Latin Americans, are not somehow inherently stupid, or intellectually inferior. They have been limited educationally by design.
Apparently, some parts of Mexico are now free from the reforms of the past, but because of racism, not all.
Over generations, indigenous people have learned to master the land. Trouble is, it only takes a generation for them to lose that mastery and become dependent on meaningless "jobs". America has had a hand in all of this, but with the help of the oligarchs.
Here's the thing. America is, and already has, become an oligarchy, because there are enough Americans who have been conned by the corporate owned media to vote against their own interests, and for that of our own oligarchs.
Our recent elections have proven that the average American voters is willfully ignorant, gullible, and intellectually lazy. Who else could possibly vote for a purely self-serving, lifelong career conman and criminal, like trump?
Your voice sounds a lot like Kamala Harris, no offense of course you're nothing like her
ОтветитьSe puede pagar mas a los trabajadores el problema es que los empresarios son una porqueria son avaros y todo con ayuda de los politicos😢😢😢
ОтветитьYour pronunciations are awesome
ОтветитьLet Mexico be Mexico.Let US be US. Sovereign Nations can be managed if they choose. They can only hold themselves accountable or not.
ОтветитьLove your work on this important story! Keep it up.
ОтветитьI’ll just keep taking my tourism to Jamaica. No biggie. Loved Mexico but recent reports of rampant crime and cartels and now this I don’t need to see Mexico again.
ОтветитьThank You
ОтветитьExactly. Gringo go home. The struggling native people will not benefit period.
ОтветитьYou heard the lady. Everyone stop visiting Oaxaca right now. Get your kicks some where else.
ОтветитьPeople like her are Protected by God.
ОтветитьThat's upsetting. I've read through some of the comments online with regards to tourists in South American countries and there is unfortunately some real racism directed and white tourists unfortunately. Thanks for the update, stay safe.
ОтветитьHello - I will be visiting Oaxaca as a tourist in the near future. Do you have suggestions on ways to support locals in a susatinable manner?
ОтветитьMejicanos are seen a full force of again the same invadors that once rejected mejicas and still but you are now face with high taxes in your..... let go to mejico. ..we won't pay ..let the mejicas work in our ..
ОтветитьMejicanos are seen invasión of china en ciudad de mejico.. big problem.. bad enough now seen more invasion of a others ..
ОтветитьThe benefits of tourism also frequently enrich the developers when they negociate tremendous tax breaks while encumbering the infrastructure in all ways, including disproportionate water use and demands placed upon law enforcement and city services. In fact, in many instances no taxes are paid in all-or-nothing deals which leverage the original poverty level against the citizens for resisting "such a generous offer".
ОтветитьLooks like the story is a fight against windmills.
Where the tourists and hotels are somehow tied to the problem of the cannibalistic corruption which gnawes into the societty of the tourist state. Instead of showing graffity about gringoes going home. The report should have shown ho many pipes, water towers a seawater desalinators were build by the gov from all the gringo investments.
A failed state blames minority for it's problems is a definition of racism.
Bravo! Brilliant reporting, unbiased and succinct. Keep on going, and never give up. Much respect, from South Africa.
ОтветитьEres muy valiente y honesta... te queremos apoyar
ОтветитьYou are brave and honest.
ОтветитьI think you could go to the mañana y exponer esto q esta pasando con la presidenta de México.. es una verdadera prueba para el gobierno y para ti .. te vamos a apoyar eres muy valiosa para México y su verdadera gente con valores..
