ASICS Metaspeed Sky Paris After 100 Miles

YO - 200k! - also, this Paris Sky got me to my fastest half-M time in over 20 years this past September. This thing flies; I think the pinky/wear aspects are also how the shoes favors supination when I footstrike, but my feet survived fine. Probably wouldn't use it for a full marathon, however, due to the narrow heel. Another fantastic review....

I went for the Edge Paris. I only use mine for faster workouts and 10k races. Anything over 10k and I just don't like them, feel too unstable IMO

I have 700km in my Metaspeed sky + and tbh they look like they did at 200km

Idk if its just my country but Asics is non existent last couple of months. Superblast is nowhere to be seen and others like magic speed or metaspeed.
The only available models are nimbus, kayano and novablast

My Metaspeed Skys are about a million times more comfortable than my Alphaflys. But I think the Alphaflys are a little bit faster. Anyone feel the same?

whats exactly the difference between the metaspeed sky+ and the sky paris? i thought its just a "newer" version of the sky+ ? but it looks not the same either. to be honest i cant find a good comparison video on the internet

I also have pinky toe issues with the metaspeed sky +.
I ran a marathon with the white upper. By the end of the marathon they were red.

If i tape my toe i can run up to a half marathon in the shoes without any blisters.

So marathon for me anymore in this shoe.

I still haven't figured out if I want to buy the Edge or the Sky. I currently am running in the Gel Nimbus 26 for slow and easy days and Superblast 1 faster days and long run days. My biggest concern is the stability comparison between the Sky and the Edge. I am only going to be racing 2-3 5ks each year and one half marathon, so I am wondering if the Edge (or maybe even the Magicspeed 4) may be the better option.

Why no whole view of the underside of the shoe?? My Metaspeed Sky Edge have started to deteriorate a lot on the heel (where there is no extra rubber outsole). The very small grip has worn fully thur to the foam. This is after only 100 KM (~60 miles)

I've got a pair of Addidas Pro 3's with over 250 miles on and they're hardly showing any wear. They're really good value for money for a marathon shoe. Really interested in the Pro 4's when they come out.

Both my 10K and half marathon PR’s where done in the Metaspeed Paris, I simply love this shoe 🎉. I have paired them with Endorphin Pro 3 for speed work, and NB more v4 for non-speed work. Finally I got a pair of Puma Velocity winter edition for snow ❄️ an ice as the puma grip keeps me standing 😂

A week ago I ran my fastest Half Marathon by 10minutes in this shoe. Probably my favorite racing shoe.

I put my novablast 4s in the washing machine and they look great. Why are all your shoes filthy? Should I not wash mine?

Great video. I have the edge and alpha fly and I think the Nike suits me better. Both are great and I use them regularly. Wanna get a trainer thanks for the suggestions.

Kofuzi, on an average how much mileage can I expect out of a Magic Speed 3? I am heavy runner

100 miles and they fall apart, what a crap Asics made.

I got these over the summer and ran the Sonoma Half and thought it was the best racing shoe yet. Big PR in them and comfy.

I think did not need to change the foam material if they had superb foam, right?

The running to the beat in the water is epic and classic Kofuzi at the same time! Agree with the other comments this is a shoe I love for anything half marathon and below, starts to feel narrow in the arch for my foot over longer distances.

What about the metaspeed edge they any good

I really like your 100K videos. Some runners do the opposite, the Sky for workouts and the Edge for race day. Having Saucony Speed 4, Puma DN2/3, I felt getting MS4 would be redundant and like you I have been considering one of the two the Edge or the Sky for workouts.

Pinky toe crush-yes I have noticed that too - makes me supinate a bit. I have felt that recently in the SB2 and Nimbus as I have quite a bit of miles on them but haven't gotten there yet in the Paris. Btw - wow and congrats on 200k - keep it going!

Do you stop at all during a 22mile long run , or is it a continuous run ?

This shoe ins INSANE!! got my pair for my 1st ever marathon in Jakarta Run Festival early October 24. Been using itu 3 times (interval training, tempo long run & race day) clocking 97K in total. Got PB Everytime using it. Different concept with Nike’s supershoe that tend to make you bounce. This shoe is cant explain it how it did it. But its true makes you run faster!

which shoe is more good for speed training kind of fatlek and interval? Superblast2 or magicspeed4?

Knocked 5 minutes from my half marathon pb in mine, they are my new best friend. Rome next, old foolish knee permitting! Superblast 2 and Sky's were my 2 shoe set up (with a smattering of SL2 as an interloper)

It’s one of the best super shoes. It’s great fast lots of energy return. Not too soft

How long do you feel these last in general? Compared to Superblast and/or Novablast? I've heard wild ranges of Superblast up to 500 miles - I suspect it's more preference and individual rather than build quality but curious on your average "pull the plug" miles for these guys. Thanks!
