Movie name: An American Pickle

I enjoyed this movie and I’m not even a Seth Rogen fan. The “Is this your father..” bit in the trailer sparked my interest. Sure there were loads of plot holes, but so what? The whole premise was absurd and I willingly suspended disbelief. I loved the chemistry between Seth and Seth and there were some really touching moments.

Riiight ...so the guy who did Sausage Party, whose plot was "everyone who believes in religion is stupid" has gone through a midlife crisis and recovered his Judaism...and doesn't even have the good grace to blush...

this movie directely offend the Polish Nation and Christian Religion. It should be forbidden.

Seth Rogen is a short bus riding window licker

The actual movie was Lame, not funny and sophomoric.

One problem: In the scene where he gets deported: It would be impossible to deport someone back to a village in the pale of settlement. That world doesn't exist anymore, due to the Holocaust.
Another problem: In Brooklyn there exists a whole Yiddish speaking community where the character of Herschel would feel right at home - with the Hasidim in Williamsburg or Crown Heights.
Yet another problem: No mention of bringing him up to date with Jewish history or culture, or other events which happened in the last 100 years. No mention of Israel or other references.

Imagine the smell of a hundred years of pickle brine on your skin...

You'd think the first things they'd tell him about would be the Holocaust and Israel.

I gave this movie a chance and really wanted it to be good -- but it's not good and not even funny for that matter -- skip warning.

I was hoping to see Rogen transition into something more serious and that this might be his entry point, particularly given the subject. Alas, this is what we have.
