if you're familiar with the original recording, you'll have noticed how it's a bit dark and lo-fi sounding; look at a spectral map of it, and there's an inexplicable little dip in the 1K area. With a couple of dB's boost in that area it freshens quite a bit, gives it some clarity.
Ответитьbest version.... thanks
ОтветитьAgreed , possibly the best 8 mins of music ever recorded
ОтветитьWhat is the word after "Be reborn"? (At 2.37.The bit where Jeff Cotton sings along.)
Ответить@wen2110 "....be reformed...(?)
ОтветитьMusic In Sea Minor, a great little LP I had from 1983 til 1996 when it was stolen.
Ответить2:22 to the end is a fucking epiphany.
ОтветитьLove, love, love. One of my favorite beefheart songs. And I like your "midrange tweak". : )
ОтветитьFinally, an intelligent fucking comment, instead of these bozos analyzing nonsensical lyrics.

ОтветитьNo, I actually meant the next word - "Be reformed, be reborn, (?????) stays, stays, stays warm ... It's always had me wondering!
ОтветитьYes, that's what I always thought it sounded like! I'd love to know what it meant ...
ОтветитьCandy corn oreos...wtf???
Ответитьcritical midrange tweak...that should be the name of some new beefheart album
Ответить2:36 Is it just me, or does that look like Charlie Manson on the steps there, behind Beefheart?
ОтветитьJohn French for the win!
ОтветитьThe bass at 3:35 is magic.
ОтветитьListen and look upon the works of people in tune with the world
ОтветитьDefinitely you. The Captain was singing to you, not inciting murder except possibly yourself
ОтветитьIt sounds like they were trying to mask the tape phasing or cymbal overtones.
Ответитьsay howzabout that John French playing his head off cheers
ОтветитьBest ever
ОтветитьBe reborn, be reformed, stay stay warm. Transcendental music is about right. music in Sea Minor was a great little 10 inch album, mine mysteriously went missing too....
ОтветитьCheck out The Nephews 1988 version of this song. Mind blowing.
ОтветитьDeathless, no need to be reborn.
ОтветитьThose drum fills feel like "Hey Jude" to me.
ОтветитьI have always loved this one. It's like the soundtrack to a weird dream. So fortunate (and improbable) that it wasn't sterilised in the recording process.
ОтветитьMan, I'm 56 and have been a beefheart fan since I was 17. I still find new things in his music. I sure miss him.
ОтветитьFrom about 3 mins 30 in it could be Television about the time of Marquee Moon.
ОтветитьLive In Amsterdam version of this is just superb along with the whole album, magnificent!
ОтветитьBest Beef heart song of all time...the drums are out of this world!
ОтветитьKorn
ОтветитьAt @ begins an exhilarating, no more boundaries, no holds barred, anthem worthy of The Grateful Dead.
ОтветитьThe advertisers stink. Boycott
Ответитьpretty damn clean sound!
