EL DORADO, Kan. – A top-15 matchup lived up to the billing on Thursday evening at BG Products Veterans Sports Complex as a late goal from freshman London Ingram helped No. 12 ranked Butler force a 1-1 draw with No. 3 Seminole State.
The Grizzlies (0-0-1) looked as if they were going to suffer a loss in their season opener as the Trojans (0-0-1) held a 1-0 lead with under a minute to play. With 10 seconds remaining, Butler sophomore midfielder Sakiko Manabe found an open Ingram on the left wing and Ingram placed a shot over the Trojan goalie’s hands into the back corner of the net with just four seconds remaining on the clock to help the Grizzlies avoid the loss.
Ingram, an El Dorado, Ark., native netted her first collegiate goal in dramatic fashion. The goal went on to be shown as the No. 4 play on SportsCenter’s Top-10 Plays Thursday evening.
