Well that can be your subjective thought, but my personal experience with Nigel is completely opposite. He is a great player and a nice guy.

Between Julian Bream's modern version without any ornementation, very "dynamic" and the etheral interpretation of Konrad Junghanel for the first piece which is not a Galliard but an Almaine (called the "false Almaine") with an unexpected quick tempo. A good balance ! Deftly played with a great Renaissance flavour ! Nigel North is a great lute player ! Great thanks !

Delicate music, beautifully played. And I might add how nice it is too see an artist take the trouble to dress nicely for a recording/video.

Jabin- Robert Johnson is indeed a Blues Legend .But he didn't play Lute of course ! I'm curious if you like this video .I enjoy Blues played by the great Robert Johnson as well as this Lute music .I honestly would like to see music like this catch on in wider circles than where its being maintained .

I have the CD, and it has been in my player for a few weeks now.  Just love this music, and Nigel's understanding of it!  Yes.  Nice to SEE him playing it.  Is this the version from the CD?  Should have done a DVD...?

Of all the lutenists, I enjor Nigel's tone the best, I feel he gets the essence of the instrument.
