what kind of soap are you using, it looked like a col. conk, or some other glycerin soap, not to be that guy, but i couldn't tell if it was just the camera or if your lather was pretty thin, but you do have a W & B, and a custom silvertip, so i'm pretty sure you know what you're doing.
Ответитьyou are totally right man that lather was wack lol embarrassing actually. The soap is one that I made using glycerin soap base and a combination of essential oils. I figured out after the video that I had too much water and not nearly enough soap. I have used the same soap several times since then and have figured out the perfect balance so now my lathers are richer and thicker than Oprah.
Ответитьi clicked the link to your shop and saw your brushes, i was wondering if you could possibly make an iberian boar hair brush or a goat hair brush, i had a goat an d horse mix before super soft with lots of backbone.
ОтветитьI don't know of a good source for those types of hair. I only have badger hair in the shop right now. I honestly don't know much about the different types hair beyond the normal badger stuff. If you still have either of those brushes you should make a video reply to this one. I would love to see a lather demo.
Ответитьthe goat and horse was a custom i got, i got it from my last trip to Jamaica it was a custom in blue mahoe wood, but i am getting a new vie-long, and a custom horse from a friend in Hungary, when they come i'll certainly make a video, right now i waiting for my package of Sah Zefros and "special" peanut shaving soap from a friend in georgia
ОтветитьI am very impressed with the work to the razor, i personally love the wade and butchers, they are terrific shavers. I hope you do not mind if i make a comment on your shaving technique... I tend to avoid long single passes, and do short burst passes. Especially on the chin to neck portion of the face. I find that limits the chance of a periodic nick, or cut.
ОтветитьThanks for the comment I don't mind at all. I will definitely try it.
ОтветитьWow, that thin lather would've scorched my face. I use a Wade and Butcher too.
ОтветитьYea it was pretty weak stuff. What can I say man I was nervous! I walked away with just a couple little nicks, no scorching thankfully.
ОтветитьVery nice shave I think I may pick one of those up myself
Ответитьthat lather is shit
Ответитьno doubt
ОтветитьThen make better lather man. what's wrong with you?
ОтветитьOuch..that is NOT good lather.
ОтветитьYou are very skilled with that blade. I do agree with all of the comments about the lather though, but you are so skilled it doesn't seem to matter. Great video.
ОтветитьJesus..shaving with no lather whatsoever. Nevertheless, nice blade
ОтветитьVery handsome both ways.
Ответитьlove the wade an butchers.i have 3 myself. currently looking for an 8/8 fbu for a reasonable price. everyone tries to sell them for exorbitant prices. I don't get it. a custom razor doesn't cost me that much! literally, I got a hand made custom 7/8 w Spanish point and a shoulderless grind 1/4 hollow in 52100 that only cost me 275. last attempt at an 8/8 W&B FBU 400!!! Jesus! ! don't get me wrong they're nice, but let's be honest. I can get an 8/8 filly for half that. demand dictates the market value. .......stop paying these ridiculous prices for vintage gear guys. .....sheesh.
ОтветитьMasterly shave! And I liked the explanations. Where did you learn such skills? I really admire you!
Ответитьwhat stones did you use to finish it?
