Hello 👋
ОтветитьDaily uploading? Okay, Sir. Really enjoying the new format of videos. It feels like we get to know you better. Maybe in the next vid, you can dive deeper into what you are building in Kiki.
ОтветитьAnother great video and in the right time for me. As I commented in the previous Dev Chat, I'm currently studying back end using TS with Nest, but I never really built a project, I was just like, reading the documentation and trying the fundamentals of it. I have some project ideas and I'll start the first one today. Thanks for the video and the inspiration, Jacob!
ОтветитьI like this new series i how to see more along the way
ОтветитьDev chat.
ОтветитьTotally agree. Two of mine I’m pretty proud of are: gmail unsubscribe web app, it allows you to fetch and unsubscribe from spam emails quickly and efficiently. And number two is a finance app I made to track shifts and expected income (I used to work freelance) so I could punch in my shift hours and rate, it would store them in a db and spin out my income and expected tax to be paid for the given time period (weekly/fortnightly) ect ect.. love the videos lately by the way, these chats are very interesting
ОтветитьBanana republic its actually cool
ОтветитьWhy not a chat about react(MERN) vs NEXT.js? How next is getting more popular and is a goto now a days..? and all that
ОтветитьTry under armor cold gear. I worked outside for a lot of years in NYC and they always kept me warm and they're thin enough that you can layer
ОтветитьThe quality in this video is insane!
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьJust wanted to say thank you Jacob. The lifestyle and attitude you have is a dream for me. Your videos help me push through the hard days as a CS student. I hope we'll meet someday for a coffee. Can't wait for more!!
Ответитьhi! Where are you originaly from?
ОтветитьAnother great video
ОтветитьHello Jacob, my name is Francisco and I’m from Dominican Republic, first of all I just want to say thank you, thank you for starting Dev chat and for the content, your videos made me start this career as a front-end engineer… I just want to say thank you!
ОтветитьTwo uploads this week? Now you're just spoiling us
ОтветитьInspired me to start coding some stuff. Currently in Uni but there is no better time to start than now!
ОтветитьI like this type of videos, vlog and chatting in one video
Keep it up bro 💪🏻💙
Thanks for another amazing video. I'm really enjoying this type of vlog (Dev Chat). I'm Brazilian, and my childhood dream has always been to visit New York. Now, with these videos you're sharing, you've brought my dream to life. I'm also a front-end developer, and your videos are truly inspiring me. Please make them more frequent!
ОтветитьGreat video, men! These days, simply crafting a portfolio with e-commerce or social media projects (which are indeed complex) just doesn't cut it. You've got to be original and innovate! Work on projects that capture people's attention, launch a startup offering a valuable service, and so on. After a grueling 10-month job search, I finally landed a position. However, it's the journey of continuous self-invention during this job hunt that truly enriched my skills. Stay the course and believe in the process!
ОтветитьI love these type of just real videos... no extra fluff it's just like I was sitting where the camera was... I love more of these.
ОтветитьI'm in the same boat as you, have been somewhat lucky/fortunate with life/jobs. What I think you're not taking into account is that many people, both in America and around the world, have it difficult, living paycheck-to-paycheck. "Ebb and flow, there will be jobs in a year" doesn't really help if you can't pay your rent, or feed your family. Likewise with start-up, the average person can't financially leave their job, or don't have time after work because of family or other responsibilities, to actually work on a start-up. Like I opened with, I've been fortunate just like what I feel you describe with yourself, but we must not forget that most people aren't as fortunate. I really love your content, keep it up! Just felt like I needed to speak my mind, as a person that took much of this for granted not long ago. Take care!
Ответитьmy weekend is complete! thank you señor jacob and stay warm with this weather...like we say in NYC "it's bricked outside"
ОтветитьThanks for this ❤❤
ОтветитьIs this really you❤. Wow you really have changed😂 I'm enjoying daily content. Also thank you sir for answering my question in full fledged video.
ОтветитьHi do you have any tips for a 15 year old getting into programming JavaScript.
Good video BTW glad you posted twice this week I was worried you had decided to stop posting.
The quality of these videos is absolutely amazing. This new wireless microphone in the busy streets of New York (ok not that busy) is beautiful. Thank you for your amazing content and beautiful insight. I've been watching you for awhile and it is pleasant to see the evolution of one's life.
ОтветитьYour videos are whats keeping me sane now that i'm making some projects before i start applying. Hope the dev chat keeps going!
ОтветитьThank you for these videos, you motivate me a lot. Your lifestyle is my dream, greetings from Argentina!
Ответитьhello, like as im an kinda ajunior/mid backend/devops with 2 years exp, from Europe, do i have chances for looking for a job in US? Do you know that kind of people on that level in NY? Nice video!
ОтветитьThis video is so real man! Do more of these!
Ответитьwatching your video during eating is the best thing
ОтветитьI actually need a crossover between Jacob and @TheLastCodebender giving their inputs on Frontend, AI, Software market in US, and startups.
ОтветитьWhats the best stack to use in this day and age building a website?
ОтветитьWhat is the impact of AI ?
ОтветитьWhen talking about deploying projects and creating projects, would you usually deploy all of em or just the best one?
I'm kinda confused since deploying costs a lot of money cmiiw though or is there a way to make em cheap/free
day 2 trying to find out where is the dog :))
ОтветитьWireless mic sounds great and love all the filming styles. Also, Columbia, Northface and L.L. Bean are great brands for cold-weather gear.
ОтветитьYou said it! Do what you need to do to stand out from the rest.
ОтветитьChallenge: Do a Dev Chat Day vlog without mentioning NYC.😀
ОтветитьHey Jacob! Great video! I am Marcos, from Spain, working on the Bitcoin ecosystem. Another thing I think you didn't mention on the video that could help beginners to land a first job (mostly if you want to land a job into the Bitcoin ecosystem) is to contribute to open source projects. Also this will skyrocket your dev skills, open source PRs are suuuper picky haha.
Again, great content!
Loved the video keep it up :)
Ответитьwhere is your dog I miss him in your videos.
ОтветитьI adore the vibe from this format. Keep it up. It motivates me to continue learning so much!
ОтветитьHey Jacob,
I've been following your page for a while. Decided to build a few GIS projects and test automation projects. My main question is when do I start applying while I build stuff? Shoutout to your page! Inspired me to dive deeper in my SWE bag.
Appreciate this video so much man. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьGreat video Jacob. Got some real advice from you😊
