Also, just as an added observation - seems to be a lot of young-ish people in NY trying to make it in any way possible - doing their own brands/fashion/modelling/tech/design. They definitely carry a dream, but it seems like a place where it's harder to be heard because everyone is running along the same path.

NYC is such a unique place. It really is. I've noticed that people can get away with wearing whatever they like in big cities, with the biggest hub for this trend being NYC. It's the same in the UK to an extent. Dribs and drabs of uniqueness in small cities like Notts and Cambs, with the biggest pockets in London. But, smaller towns and most definitely villages, and you'll struggle to find any creativity. It seems to be a uniquely city thing.
