Marc Guéhi has been exceptional for England, he showed its time to move on to the next generation. Tomori deserves the chance to show he should be the man alongside him. Maguire is too slow, Walker is okay in a back 3 but otherwise his age is showing. Stones is good but injured a lot.

Very very very average defender, and I'm a Milanista. The problem with tomori is not ability. The issue is intelligence. The mistakes he was making in his first few months are still evident today. He hasn't progressed or improved, and thank god we finally have a coach who has the personality to drop underachieving players. Tomori was starting week in week out under the previous manager all to the detriment of Milan. He is AWFUL in the air. Time and time and time again he misjudges the flight of the ball over his head - cost Milan many goals. He also presses when he should stay back, and stays back when he should press. Concentration is a huge issue.

Honestly I don't understand where Southgate's head was. The guy won Serie A as Starter for AC freakin Milan. He's a key play in a side youd realistically expect to reach the UCL quarterfinals each season. He plays against Juve, Inter, Napoli, Roma and Atlanta not to mention Champions League opposition as their main defender but you pick Lewis Dunk instead? Nothing against Dunk, there's just levels to this.
