You can build elevated subway stations on top of roads. The station is a little wide though so I use 4 or 6 lane roads for the stations. I always build elevated rail for the Chicago vibe, and I like seeing the trains crisscross the city.

an interesting and complex build, executed well. My only concern is that some of the underground stations are way too close to eachother meaning the subway train would barely get going before stopping again!

This was so chaotic but I love it!

I would extend the blue line along that coastal road, meeting up with the orange line at some point near the undeveloped peninsula. Then add a third line from the industrial port to the blue line near the interchange, up to interface with what are currently the last two stops of the Orange Line, and then continue up towards the depot/suburbs.
