Got mine at zero interest recently. At 1K miles the rear motor knocks in forward and reverse. Not a good start for me. Tesla Service appt. next week for them to attempt to fix it as they've already said its not normal. Hopefully other owners don't start seeing this too. I actually came from a BMW M2 Competition. I honestly miss it. The Tesla is just... boring with no soul. Also resale on the Tesla SUUUUUUUUCKS bad. Values of them sink like rocks in a lake. Oh well, live and learn.

My 11 year old Outback, which has never needed any repair, of any kind and run like new--compare THAT to 47 thousand. I think I'll keep my car.

Starting at 47k is not cheap. It must be nice having that type of money. Average customer cant afford a 30k car.

The MSRP for the Model 3 performance trim is now more then $55k thus doesn't qualify for the tax credit unless you get the color Stealth Grey. All other color options add anywhere fr0m $1,000 to $2.000 to MSRP. If you want the exterior color to be black your total cost including taxes will be around $61,900 since you wont get a tax credit. But if you select the $8,000 Full Driving option you get the color you want included and you get the tax credit which puts your total with tax to around $60,500. So its cheaper overall if you add the $8,000 Full driving option then if you don't.

These start at $65,000 in Canada. That's $810/month for 6 years. 6 YEARS of your life you have to pay $810/month!

How is this a bargain by any measure!?

Fuel savings isn't enough to justify because it's due to amount of miles driven. So is repair and maintenance.

I'm a tesla shareholder. I'm a tesla fan boy. I'm a spacex(go flight 8!) neuralink, boring company nerd.

But there's no way a $65,000 car PLUS taxes and fees is a bargain. Nowhere on this planet is that a bargain.

There is not much competition for Tesla in the US. Elsewhere, Tesla still holds its own very well - even in China where there are dozens of new competing models every year.

Maybe Tesla buyers should cancel their orders. Its really not a good buy at any price. Also, why buy from a Nazi who is destroying this country??

According to CarEdge, Tesla's depreciation rate was 26.63% in 2023, 38.89% in 2022, 44.43% in 2021, and 49.56% in 2020.
Also, this little tid bit, Tesla does not pay any tax. Wouldn't it be better to support a company that pays tax to the US? His companies get billions from the Federal Government.
Tesla's federal income tax rate has been 0% in 2022 and 2024, and 1.5% in 2023. This gives Tesla an average tax rate of 0.4% over the past three years.

In 2022, Tesla reported a $5.5 billion income and paid no federal income tax.
In 2023, Tesla reported a $3.1 billion income and paid $48 million in taxes, which is a 1.5% tax rate.
In 2024, Tesla reported a $2.3 billion income and paid no federal income tax.
Tesla's average tax rate is 50 times lower than the statutory corporate tax rate of 21%.

Psst! If you make more than 150k a year, you can still take advantage of the $7500 incentive. All you have to do is buy a lightly used 2024 model. Used cars are priced as though all the discounts were already applied so people can't just buy them at a discount and immediately flip them for profit.

Why are we comparing nonEV ICEV with a BHEV?. What about the Ioniq etc? Just to keep the comparison fair🤔. Seems like you miss driving(fun) a performance ICEV😊. Best usecase of BEV being using the vehicle to max mileage. If you are in for resale value or to keep driving with low mileage for a long time, ICEV might be a good option.❤👍

It's not a bargain in Canada. Federal incentives of $5,000 were removed, Tesla increased the price $10,000 and it's out of price range for provincial incentives of $4,000. The car is now $19,000 more expensive than it was 5 months ago.... Although i bought mine right before all the incentives were removed and the price increased. So i actually paid $41,000 for a $60,000 car.

100% on point. I love my '22 M3P. People who gripe about Tesla's not having any soul are missing the point. It is the BEST daily driver on the planet. The effortless acceleration makes these cars an absolute blast. I wish mine was the newer model but I plan on getting the S Plaid in a year or so, because I want something a little bigger and I still prefer a sedan and I don't think I could "settle" for the LR when the Plaid exists. But even the last gen 3P is still very quick and handles so well, has an excellent sound system (new one is even better) and it's so easy to live with. I'm not sure I'd want one as my only car (I have other cars) but it is the car I always look forward to driving, when I can get to it before my wife does.
