I love this guy! The goofy hat and cornpone accent lends a nice touch. That said, his content is very interesting.
ОтветитьMagtech has a 22LR hyper. What about test it against Aguila and Punch?👍
Ответить25acp = poopy
ОтветитьI don’t think either one is very good. They both perform very similarly. However, the .25 is larger. Significantly larger. You personally choose the .40 S&W 165 over the .357 Sig. 125 because you like the bigger heavier bullet. I am confused. Refer to my first sentence. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Vince
ОтветитьMy uncle took down a whole herd of Cape Buffalo with a single round of 25 ACP at 2,000 yards...😂
ОтветитьI think companies may load .25acp weaker than necessary because there are so many Lorcin type pistols in the chambering. Supposedly, Browning developed the .25acp to have tge same performance as a .22lr from a 'vest pocket' pistol because he couldn't get the reliability he wanted from a .22lr in that size of pistol. I have seen comparisons with different ammo using the same size guns where the .25 was a little more 'powerful' (if you can use that term) than .22lr.
Growing up in the 1970s, most of the old men I knew carried a little .25 like the one in this video in the bib pocket of their overalls and seemed to get done everything they needed to do with them. I think they were carried more for snakes and varmints than 'social encounters'. Some did carry a .32 acp, instead but the .25 was possibly more common.
I have a soft spot for .25acp. when I turned 18 my mom gave me my first handgun as a birthday present. It was a .25acp Titan. She bought it at the flea market (1989 you could buy guns at just about any flea market and it wasn"t 'under the table' - there were people who had booths and only or mostly sold guns). I loved it - plinked with it a lot and never a failure and I didn't know as much about cleaning and maintaining back then. Was stolen from Mom's house while I was at college (I think a relative lifted it - Mom kept it handy in case she needed it).
I had a Phoenix for a while because I could find .25 acp ammo locally when most everything else dried up during the Obamammo shortage. It was reliable and I even carried it for a while but traded it at the LGS toward something else once ammo supplies started to return. Too heavy, too many safeties and too aggravating to field strip for cleaning and reassemble.
I don't have a .25 acp right now but probably will, again, some day. I may even carry it, some - around the property for varmints, etc. where I may not want as much penetration.
Now im wondering if you really conceal or just wear it loud & proud? One on each hip maybe? You have the hat for it.👍🤠
Ответить🐭 Fun! 🐭
I think it's pretty cool how Federal was able to get a 22lr to perform out of such a short barrel.
Great vid!
💥👍💥
I use 22lr punch for brown bear defense....😊
ОтветитьNever could get the federal punch 22lr to cycle through my tx 22 I had hoped but was bummed
Ответить12/5/99 Off Duty LVMPD Devitte using a .25acp won a gun fight against multiple armed attackers, one armed with a .40Cal another a 12ga. Mr. D's bar.
^just facts.
I'll stay with an air weight loaded with 38spl+p for discreet carry.
Both of these are incredibly effective when used properly. Barrel against neck, temple, ear , tongue, etc. 😧😧😧😂
ОтветитьA discontinued Beretta 950 BS is a single action in 25 ACP and a great pocket carry when you need deep concealment. A hot 50 grain FMJ in 25 ACP will chronologically at 808 fps. Your Beretta 22 LR did a great job for what they are intended. Thanks for the testing of the mouse guns.
ОтветитьWhen I was training to get my CCW with my .38spl revolver I bought 6 boxes of .38spl federal punch. Went to the shooting range and only shoot 1 box. I was very disappointed with the ammo. I had problems and some of the rounds the bullet was not in the case correctly. It seems quality was not there. Luckily I had taken different brand of ammo too like federal red box, Winchester white box, bronze ammo, and blaze ammo all did not have any issues. They were reliable. I hope it was only that batch of ammo only. I know this is for .22lr but I would not buy .22lr punch I prefer CCI stinger or mini-mag.
ОтветитьYou missed the point of the 25acp. John Browing made it as a RELIABLE center fire alternative to 22LR. Center fire cases typically feed more reliability than 22LR.
Until recently, that was a great reason to use .25 acp & .32 acp instead of .22LR.
I honestly don't think it did that bad for a 25. Not that I'd carry it but for what it is better than a brick
ОтветитьIt’s hard to beat the 22 punch 🤛 good video 👍🇺🇸
Ответить22 punch vs everything!
ОтветитьWhat's so crazy about the sun and moon being out? Lol. You ain't a flat earther are ya?
ОтветитьDefinitely not ideal, but it's nice that Federal has made a point of giving viable defensive loads in these anemic calibers so people that may find themselves with no alternative, due to whatever circumstance, still have a 'best' option.
ОтветитьThe only advantage the 22lr had here was a couple extra inches of penetration, but that was on the second only. The 25 ACP had better distruption.. I would say they were fairly even
ОтветитьFederal Punch jams in my LCPII. Stingers do not jam. Perhaps do to the shape difference of the actual bullet.
ОтветитьToo bad we're not closer (I live in WNC), I have a Phoenix Arms HP22A and HP25A (both silver tone). That might silence some of the pedantic critics out there... well maybe, some just like to complain. Another excellent video, thanks for your valuable content.
ОтветитьYour channel is the best! Love that southern accent.
ОтветитьBetter penetration out of the .25 than I expected.
ОтветитьI hope to see you retest the Buffalo Bore 25 ACP in the same gun.
ОтветитьWonder what a .25 magnum round would be like and why they haven’t really made one.
ОтветитьCurious how the 22lr would do out of the HK 416 22lr I just picked up. 🤔
ОтветитьI wonder how 32 APC out of Kel-Tec 32 would do against these two?
ОтветитьOut of a rifle?
ОтветитьTools am enjoying these videos more now that I have retired, since time is my friend every day all day.
ОтветитьThanks for the excellent video!
ОтветитьYou got a reading, you just wanted the 22 to beat out the 25
ОтветитьId like to see same test but use the buffalo bore 25
ОтветитьOutstanding Review the the .25 acp is a worthless center fire they could load it up to be hot
ОтветитьNow I can say I was mooned by Tools.
I still think the .25 ACP is more or less a novelty anymore. Still want it in a little rifle suppressed for squirrel hunting. Cast and hand load for it.
I need to apologize. I've enjoyed lots of your videos so much that YT kept prompting me again and again such that in the last minute I found I was not subcribed! Mistake corrected.
ОтветитьI’ve noticed with my lcp2 , 22lr that it’ll eject the punch fine but doesn’t reliably chamber it so I chamber a punch and the magazine is full of blazers. I carry it because it’s what I have at the moment that’s pocket concealable.
Ответить25ACP was introduced because the 22 (similar power) was unreliable ignition. Federal use a more sensitive priming compound in their center fire rimers. If they do the same in 22, then the reliability issue may be solved. That said, I have fired thousands of 22 rounds and can't recall the last time one failed to go bang. I like your testing. Keep it up.
ОтветитьI wouldn't ever consider carrying a .22 unless it was a revolver. You might consider throwing a revolver into your rotation.
ОтветитьLove your videos T&T. Very scientific evaluation of ammo. Standard deviation! I haven't heard that since I took a course in Psychological Statistics dedades ago. I'm impressed!
ОтветитьThe old statement is that the .25 ACP has boxer primer that makes it little bit more reliable than is the case with rim fire. For either, it really needs to hit a vital area to put someone out quickly. The penetration on either one was more than sufficient.
Is either better than a sharp stick? I do not want to get shot with either or poked with sharp stick.
I undersand why 25 ammo is still made, because some people have old 25's and like to shoot them occasionally, but i cannot imagine why guns are still made in the caliber. they are so obscure and impractical I;d never buy one, execept if I found an old one at a garage sale for 25 bucks.
ОтветитьMy grandma used to say only lazy people see the moon in daylight. I used to try to get her to look at the moon during the day. She never would do it. Good memories.
ОтветитьNot bad but I think my ASP has more punch than those Punch rounds 😂
ОтветитьSorry, but I'm going with the fatter, heavier slug, especially since they don't expand. Energy is so low, the difference is negligible. Reliability is an interesting aside; but I'm going for more frontal area, period, considering the similar depths (we didn't get a 2nd .25acp round).
ОтветитьWound channel looks better on 25 to me.
ОтветитьPaul Harrell chose a beretta 25 auto for his pocket carry gun.
I realize that has no relevance to this ammo test, and in fact I always thought it was an odd choice for him, but he showed it in several videos and talked about why he chose it. If I remember correctly, it was for reliability.
That 22 punch is good stuff.
75- Yard hit. Nice 👍. Rimfire is no joke. Really like all the rimfire testing you do. Federal makes great ammo. Agree with you my friend. Go rimfire! Be safe!⭐️😎⭐️😎🇺🇸
