I looked it up and as you say its no place for the timid or the unaware , 10 kt tides and 9 meter waves ,beautiful place there but like a lot of newfoundland , not a tree to be seen thanks to those north atlantic winds , be safe

Newfoundland?? Correct give or take 3000 miles which is just very slightly alarming imho.
It's off Scotland, anchored there and it is stunning. No danger just know your stuff. Calf of man is waaaay more dangerous.
