Ive given it a go a number of times in my Mitsubishi NP Pajero 2004 3.2 DID. (4M41 motor) I have added to a full tank of fuel 90ltr between 100ml to 400ml on different fills and have noted a smoother motor, quieter motor and possibly better fuel economy. This said results can also be subjective to the ambient temperature out side, oil used in motor, road conditions etc. All said and done, I do feel a benefit (as small as it may be) is obtained using 2 stroke (mineral). My initial interest was to lubricate the mechanical fuel pump which is rather noisy on these diesels. Additional smoke was nothing out of the ordinary as this motor is a very clean running one already, yet under heavy acceleration as per most vehicles it does soot up to a small extent. Keep your foot light on the pedal and no issues.

Hello mate,
I’ve got a 2.0 BKD tdi, that’s got a strange cold start/ running issue… so it cold starts fine, no issues but when driving it for the first couple of minutes the car misfires between 2200rpm up to 3100rpm but by the time you’ve hit that rpm you’ve let off because it can’t be good for the engine.
Seems to me like it’s not getting enough fuel like there isn’t anything for it to combust or the air mixture is way off… like the turbo isn’t boosting right… idk but this symptom only lasts for a short time from start-up. When the engine is up to temperature its fine until you’ve been driving for a good 40mins, after that you get slight misfire every so often when cruising and it will do it fairly frequently when sitting 70+ fast lane.
Any ideas?

Also 2t oil in 500:1 ratio works as upper cylinder lubricator, thus smoother as less friction and 1% better mpg.

Ita good, i do it on my motos, will do a video about it too, and see in check camera in there

Two stroke had zinc in it. Zinc causes injector blockages hence the reason two stroke is only used with carburettors.

i have been adding 250 ML of mineral 2 stroke oil in my high mileage 2.0 x type Jag,for about 18 months -ford engine-, and i have noticed a huge difference , much smoother, less clatter, easier starting and way better MPG, over 50, whereas it was around 35 before, it must't be synthetic as it won't mix with the diesel well, if at all and gives off a nasty burning smell

Ok People have brought a Tiguan and am also using 2 stroke mineral oil per ever other tank and and I do a run to Cornwall twice a month which is 250 miles there and 250 back at 70 mph with the mineral in I’m getting 56 . 4 miles to the gallon . Without the 2 stroke in I’m getting 48 miles to the gallon . The 2stroke oil cost me £4.00 and I get 6 tanks out of it.
The best diesel out there to me is shell v power which is £146 a litre and way over priced . I have had no problem with the Tiguan and the engine is silky smooth just like my taxi was after the use of 2 stroke . Hope this of help to you guys have a great weekend.👍🏻

Personally used 2 stroke in the past with decent results, but stopped due to stuff online regarding the zinc content can cause injector fouling/failure.
Last few months ive been using 2-ehn with the Archoil 6900D freebie you used at the end of the video, last year my MOT emissions for a 1.7cdti were 1.1ppm last week it passed with 0.3.
Is the 2 stroke you used zinc free?

I have been using Comma 2 stroke mineral oil in my cars since 2007. Noticed a big difference more or less immediately. Gives about 6 benefits , raises the octane, better mpg, less engine wear, lubricates injectors and injector pump, lowers emissions to 47% of normal. Engines definitely start easier, run sweet as a nut , less clatter on cold start-up. BUT the main reason was lubrication because the way governments ruin our road fuels by removing Lead ( lubricant )from petrol hence the rubbish unleaded now, which is worse quality than pre WW2.
Also removing the sulphur ( lubricant) from diesel. Perhaps they want to raise even more revenue from replacement injectors, pumps and new engines. My info came from a German techy ( not vw) who works still for a big manufacturer. Be not afraid the 2 stroke is tax paid before you get your mits on it, The revenue cannot do a thing about. My final or his final recommendation was to use only mineral or semi synthetic, as in their tests fully synthetic will not blend with diesel fuel. I have always used mineral. Also the ratio of 2 stroke to diesel fuel was 200:1.

A bit extra will do no harm , only good. Your engine will thank you.
Oh and Thank You for doing the video.

I know in my two stroke motors the oil decreases the octane rating slightly so dont see why this shouldn't happen to diesel engines also.....so that would mean maybe less power and less mpg by adding oil? but if i was going to try it id try synthetic as i would not want it to burn like people are saying if you want it to lube everything

Use only 2S JASO-FD+ or ISO-L-EGD. Ash content for FB and FC is 0.25%, for JASO FD it is 0.18%. JASO FB has lower lubricity level than FC. And both FB and FC are having much lower detergent level than FD. I use FD from WestWay for years now. I pull injectors every 50kkm to change seals - injectors are clean, I got pictures. I never go over 1 to 250, over that, cetane level goes too lower for my D4D, and engine stops being happy. Its best to keep ratio around 1 to 250-300. You experts says mineral is best? Why? Because higher ash content or lower detergent levels? I have mixed 1 to 50 fully synth 2S FD with diesel in glass bottle. After 6 months it stays in a mix. Surprise? Not for me.

I use 2 stroke in my 2017 nissan navara np300.. it has a common rail system .. definitely beneficial.. as these cars are rated for euro emission .. there are considerable clattering with the injectors and fuel pumps around 2k rpm the 2 stroke has stopped this but it took 30km of driving before it really lubed everything and things got quiter.. i have been using 2 stroke oil in my ute for the past week and have noticed it does 380km from full to half a tank rather than just 300 for my in town driving.. economy went from 8.9 litres per 100km to 7.8. Highway is down to 6.3 to 6.9 pending hills and forced acceleration.

All mechanical 12 valve rotary pump Cummins. I tried the conventional (mineral) 2 stroke oil trick and it smoked a bit more, though not bad. No change that I could discern in smoothness or NVH. Much more notable was that the mileage went in the basement. I went from 25 MPG (US measurements) to less than 20 MPG. I have long since returned to using "sulfur substitute" and it has been wonderful so far.

The potential issue with adding the 2 stroke oil to diesel, particularly in a common rail system is that it usually contains zinc as an anti wear additive. Zinc isn’t the best thing to put through injectors and can cause fowling of the injector tips, on the other had I know people who have added mineral 2 stroke to their diesel for years with no ill effects. Also, the reduced knocking isn’t necessary a good thing on a diesel. Diesel engines have to knock, they are compression ignition and as a result that actually have to pre-ignite to work. Less knock is kind of indicating that the fuel is less volatile. Common rail systems retard the injection timing at lower rpm to reduce the knock hence why the tick over quieter than older engines with fixed timing and have wider power bands etc.

I drove the haul road between Fairbanks and Prudhoe Bay, AK for 5 years in the mid to late ‘80s, almost exclusively during the winter. They had #2, #2 Arctic, and #1 Arctic fuel available. The #2 was good down to about 5 to 10 degrees F, the #2 Arctic was good down to about -20 F, and I’ve never seen the #1 Arctic gel and I been in actual temps down to -75 F. The #1 Arctic was so clear that if you couldn’t catch a reflection of the surface of the fuel you couldn’t tell if there was fuel in the tank. It was so “dry” that if you put your hand in it it would dry out in a very short time much like lighter fluid or gasoline. To prevent this fuel from raising havoc with the pump and injectors I would add a quart of 2 stroke oil for every 40 - 50 gallons of fuel. Two cycle oil is made to be used dispersed in fuel and still retain its lubricating properties as well as mixing well in cold temperatures making it well suited for this purpose.
