Wow! That looks incredible! Those colours in the sunset of your first night - there's just no words good enough to describe it! I've only been to Kintail once, as a child - and I never made it at all to Glen Affric Youth Hostel, as I felt the walk-in from Cannich was beyond my capability. Unlike you, I'd nobody to walk it with either - and I'm glad to see you weren't alone on such a deserted trail in the depths of winter, as anything could happen - an awful long way from anywhere! I love frosted trees, too. Thanks for sharing it - I expect some of your viewers will be heading along there right now - I know I would, if I was able!!
ОтветитьGreat video again at least for anyone whose dream is hiking in Scotland.Double thumb up!
ОтветитьYou had great weather for it. I love this area. Alltbeith youth hostel is brilliant. I stayed there last May. A great video. Well done.
ОтветитьSuperb! You were very lucky with the weather but you certainly made the most of it.
Why would an African tale be set in Scotland though?
My friend, scenery is so powerful here! Outstanding winter scenery!!
ОтветитьStunning 🙅🏻♀️
ОтветитьStunning video. Im doing this trail in april so after watching your video im looking forward to it even more 😊
ОтветитьGreat video 👍 Doing this in about 9 weeks time - but east to west- so great help to my planning. Thanks for sharing - subbed 👍
ОтветитьTop stuff mate, what a time to do the trail. Really whetted my appetite.
ОтветитьFantastic video, what sleeping bag and mat did you use on the trip??
ОтветитьLooking amazing keep up with all your great work 😅😅😅
ОтветитьToo old to start this type of adventure but thank you for sharing the beautiful winter scenery
ОтветитьBeautiful winter scenery. Enjoyed it
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this video with us all I've climbed a lot of different mountains in the past all over Scotland lake district snowdonia and northern Ireland we're I lived with my x wife 20years 😊😊
ОтветитьCracking video, was in Glen Shiel area the second week of January and got lucky with the weather, had five out of seven bluebird days, unbelievably beautiful with the snow and ice everywhere. My plan was to do a recce down the first part of the trail the way you went but instead walked up Beinn a Chapuill instead. Will be doing the Kintail-Affric trail next year now for sure. Thanks for the tour.
ОтветитьAnother beautiful adventure! That first morning light shot on day 2 was gorgeous. What a magical time of day. It was good you had your friend along on this trip, safety in numbers seems important in those kinds of temperatures. I agree about the longer videos, I'm all for them lol. I appreciate you taking us along with you guys. Thanks again, safe travels.
ОтветитьThis brings back memories of my trek on the Affic Kintail! Good to see someone else tackle it in that direction, seems most do it the other way. All the best, Jase
ОтветитьDid this a couple of years ago but the other way
ОтветитьYou certainly got lucky with the weather, and WOW, the views to go with it!
Another great video, cheers 🙂👍
Nice one lads, conditions looked mint ..perfect winters day for the trail ..enjoyed that ..cheers Stevie
ОтветитьBeautiful hike, cannot wait to go there myself maybe this or next year. Done WHW and Great Glen Way few months ago, was top notch. Scotland is the best!
ОтветитьCracking video young man 👏
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьThanks for taking me along with you. I've done this trail a couple of times and you definitely chose the best time of year. The midges on the Cannich end of Glen Affric are the hungriest ones I've ever encountered anywhere in the Highlands.
ОтветитьIncredible video and unbelievable conditions, three days of frost, mist, clear skies and no wind in Scotland. Don't get that often. You for sure made the most out of it!
ОтветитьThank you - you’re very lucky with the weather
ОтветитьGreat report. Makes me want to do the walk in the same direction as yourselves.
ОтветитьNew subscriber, and have being enjoying a lot of your past videos.reallly well made with great information . cheers for your time and effort
ОтветитьYou have taken your adventure passing another marvellous range of mountains that sparks formative memories for me.
The Five Sisters of Kintail and their glorious mountain surroundings, in my case, warm summer conditions, yet still not another soul on the hill! Except for the golden eagles soaring on the updraughts of every corrie rim).
Seeing your wonderful trek unfold through a landscape where every leaf of grass, every tree twig and branch, rimed with spiky crystalline frost and ice, and your tent, of course.!!
Your passing by of bothies and hostels, locked for the winter, certainly scope for a future trip?
Your personal detail, mountain 🐐, frozen sandwich along the way, defrosting a water bottle, a fox crossing your path, a bus pub meal at Cannich😅.
Of such minutiae are memories made!
It's clear from the video that the section from Cannich to Drumnadrochit is 'new'. Morvich to Cannich (by the way, no "itch!) and on to Beauly has ancient pedigree, drovers, armies even!!
Each May time, this trail is given over to a Biathlon, running and cycling competition. Such events in an area of such scenic splendour and importance to wildlife, are controversial but it does raise money for charity - and probably helped fund the nicely block-pitched path you enjoyed up out of Glen Licht past the Alt Grunnda waterfall.
Like to know how you arranged transport to and from home this trek.
For me, it was train to the Kyle and the post bus to Shiel Bridge, then walk/camp.
My return was via Skye, but that's another story😄.
Well done, mate, you did a fantastic job of showing us the beauty of Scotland in winter
ОтветитьVery nice video which I much enjoyed. Thanks for sharing. Loved all the frosty trees.
ОтветитьWell done lads, great film. Subbed.
ОтветитьHi mate. Wow, what an amazing few days you had to complete the trail. Absolutely stunning. Glenn Affric is one of my favourite places in Scotland. We had a weeks walking in and around the Glen the other year. We stayed in a holiday cottage in Cannich. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us. All the best, Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴
ОтветитьGood on you mate looks beautiful. On the list to do with the wifey. (We've done Glen Africa before but never the full Kintail
ОтветитьGreat video, really enjoyed it. Glen Affric is a bit special.
ОтветитьHad this on the list for last year but didn’t manage it so this has given me the incentive to make sure it happens in 2024 - liked and subbed 👍🏻
ОтветитьGreat video, such beautiful views.
ОтветитьSome awesome scenery in this vid, and great atmospheric captures of the hoar frost on the trees, grasses and tussock, and the crunching and cracking of breaking ice underfoot
Much of that country is so much like high country inland parts of south island New Zealand that I've hunted and tramped ....... snow, frosts, and all lol
Your videos are always really good buddy 🏆💯
ОтветитьGreat vid. What great weather for walking. Not sure about camping weather though. How did you go on sleeping for 11/12 hours with it being winter?. What actual month of the year did you do the hike? Keep posting the vids. Top stuff.
ОтветитьHi, you keep saying "WE" but you never introduce your friend/chum to your viewers , we just see a shadow behind you , could be William Wallace or Jimmy Krankee !!! just seems a bit bizare, when you have Company but you dont introduce them ? Great Scenery
Ответитьjust seen this video - one word sums it up - - Amazing..! well done and keep them coming
ОтветитьThanks for another video about beautiful nature of Scotland. I enjoyed it, magic scenery! I am watching your videos with opened maps in my phone :)
ОтветитьJust started to watch your videos. Enjoying them very much. Some fabulous scenery. Having lived in Scotland for a number of years, (but left to move to the North East of England for family) used to be out most weekends on the hills and glen hikes. With this video as it was so cold it would be interesting for many if you posted a video on the gear you used, sleep system, tent etc.
Good video, breathtaking scenery. Thanks for posting.
Well done young fella your videos are great and I hope they inspire lots of people your age to get out into our beautiful country
ОтветитьAwesome
ОтветитьAbsolutely gorgeous, never walked it, our journey started and finished at Clachnaharry on a round trip by road. The A87 has, to my mind be one of the most majestic roads trips. Thank you for reawakening memories from 40 years ago. Keep up the brilliant work.
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответить‘Absolutely amazing’ video❣️
