My Journey has been as this

A child who inherently believes in a creator but doesn't know what that means or is. Then, a teenager who in his late teens becomes an atheist because of science. Then a young adult so caught up with himself I don't give it thought. Today, I am a believer because of science. It comes full circle if you only knock.

Francis Collins is one of the scientists whose work I often bring up when I'm talking to Young Earth creationists who insist that 'evolution is a religion' and conventional (secular🙄) scientists are biased because of their 'evolution beliefs' and that evolution is in direct contradiction of scripture and blah blah.. Collins is an example of an honest creationist who knows that the evidence that all life is related is overwhelming and that obviously evolution is how life works. It's what the evidence demonstrates, and has nothing to do with anyone's beliefs.

He even said, 'as a Bible believing christian, I don't wish this to be so, but it is so. It does not serve faith well to deny that'. (That quote is not verbatim, apologies, but it's accurate enough)

Yes, all of the Universities and the whole of the Scientific community are wrong and the purveyors of Christian Mumbo Jumbo are right. Those Dinosaur bones you see in Museums are less than 6 000 years old.
Scientists and Palaeontologists who say Dinosaurs died out millions of years ago are lying to you, in fact those skeletons of Dinosaurs and stone age people are just plastic replicas the Scientists are using in their quest to serve the Devil and to deceive you into believing there really isn’t an invisible guy in the sky watching all of us 24/7 and taking notes. Oh the deceit, Jesus save us ……

I want to say first off I am very open minded but I have made the mistake of being close minded before in the past.

I am not Christian I am pagan. But I am a little different from most pagans. My view on higher beings has been simplified to me seeing them as more evolved energies.
There is a world that physical science has barely touched on. The realm of the soul, of spirituality. Most humans have an awareness that there is a place beyond our own where higher beings can reside.

In Christianity they believe in angels and 1 main God who is part of a trinity called The father, the son, and the Holy Spirit.
Paganism is very similar.. but more focused on our connection with our earth home as humans. Pagans typically believe in that as a whole, the universe, plants, animals, people, all organisms are one. That would be considered the father in the Christian trinity. The son and the Holy Spirit are different to pagans because they’re usually viewed as the feminine energies of the earth and universe in a single female figure. And the male energies of the earth and universe in a single male figure.
Most other gods in paganism are viewed as high spirits/ beings but not as important as the main 2. So almost like.. angels but more human like and more powerful.
MOST modern Pagans know and understand that the stories handed down are more useful as a learning tool vs believing those things actually happened.. in fact we accept those stories were man made.
But since man cannot fully explain these higher energies we have given them names and embodiments that we can relate to aka the human form.

I am also very into science and completely believe in evolution but also I am spiritual and know there are higher beings than us.
The only difference between Christians and pagans is the names and forms we give our divinity and the stories are different.

am happy to see more and more people rejecting religion as the world progresses with more education as the ignorant or the natural objects that religions feed on. In the U.S. and elsewhere religion is the greatest scam of all time. People with children would be ostracized in their community if they did not go to church, synagogue or temple etc...Where would they get married or have funerals etc. It is so ingrained in our culture that even your date of birth is directly tied to the birth of Christ I was born in the year of our Lord 1947 for example YIKES), your currency is inscribed with “In God We Trust" as is the Courtroom where justice is administered. It is all there from the moment you are born and very easy to get suckered into and hard to break away from depending on where you live and your local community.

Is religion absolutely ridiculous? Yes. Was it necessary for civilization to make it to the level it is today? Perhaps. It helped humans not be afraid of being erased from existence when they die, by convincing themselves they'll live forever. Without it important people may not have made the discovers they did. So however absurd it is, I'm sure it helped further humanity. Although, now that we're at the height we are it does more harm than good and should be forgotten like most antiquated ideas such as human sacrifice.

Simply put, the Trinity means that there is only one God and that God has three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The “Wei” of the “San Wei Yi Ti” [Trinity in Chinese] does not mean digits but persons, and the “Ti” does not mean the body but the essence.
The three persons represent the three forms of existence of God, but there is only one essence.
That is to say, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit all refer to God in essence.
It means one God rather than three Gods, which is called the Trinity in English.
However, there is no such word in the Bible, and early Christianity did not have this concept at the beginning.
The 27 books of the New Testament were all written by the disciples of Jesus or the disciples of the disciples. The canonical catalog was not determined until 397 A.D.
Therefore, the various teachings of the early New Testament were discussed and concluded by priests, theologians, and bishops.
The doctrine of the Trinity also experienced nearly 300 years of development, which became a big controversy by 318 A.D.

I think Dr. Voorhis expressed it most clearly. Our observations of the universe and all that it contains suggests a creator. But a suggestion is an inherently cognitive/psychological phenomenon, fully subject to the whims and biases of the observer. This is why various groups of people envision what is suggested in vastly different ways. Since envisioning of a creator is suggested and not supported by empirical/scientific evidence, any scientist who claims a certain envisioning is the correct one is no scientist.

I was born in a Hindu family but I don't call myself a religious person.I'm also a rational person who doesn't believe in superstitions and miracles, but when I listen to some scientists like these who have a great understanding of physics, chemistry and biology and they do believe that there is something beyond the physical world and because of these people and my personal experience I never call myself an atheist.
I think that there is a deep mystery in the universe and about its existence and I'm saying this after listening to a lot of atheist scientists and Nobel laureates as well.

I'm a Christian and I love Science, and it was actually reading the Bible that inspired me to study science because I was in love with God’s creation, and science is the study of God’s creation and its fundamental laws, additionally, the Bible is remarkably consistent with modern Cosmological model, infact Scientists like John Lennox and Hugh Ross give brilliant explanations on this, just listening to Hugh Ross really opened my eyes to the amazing cosmological accuracy of the Bible even
Fred Hoyle an influential non-Christian Scientist stated "the Bible has a good deal of cosmology, a remarkable conception".

I hop more people watch this! I'm a religious person who firmly believes in science (no, it's not an oxymoron, it can happen). The relationship between spirituality and science has become so at war, it's depressing. People think I'm less intelligent or educated because I'm religious... but I still firmly accept the theory of evolution, am a big fan of physics, am fascinated by in interested in mathematics, black holes, quantum mechanics, etc. If I'm not being attacked by atheists for being religious, then I'm being attacked by religious people for believing in science. It's pretty painful and exasperating. I believe in the observable and the unobservable... and I know I can't be alone!

The Christian clergy and monks after the Roman era were literally the only people who were literate in Europe, most people were illiterate back in those days. The Churches were literally the only places in Europe that had books and literature etc etc. The Church then educated the common person, and especially those of royal and elite statuses. It's very strange how today's secular atheists tend to forget this. They actually believe they educated themselves, which is a load of nonsense. The scientists and engineers back in those days were monks or clergyman, then the church influenced and educated the common people who became scientists way up until the 1800s. Atheism is only a recent occurrence compared to the centuries of literate Christian scholars and scientists. Lest they forget who taught them to read and write...

There is so often a low number of views on any videos that are outside of the naturalistic box. I think that gives us some idea of, not only that the algorithms cater to your 'likes' and what you've already viewed, but also of how willing those with a naturalistic view of the universe are to entertain ideas outside of that which they have already embraced. And I will go so far as to suggest that there are very, shall we say, 'rational' reasons for that... (Proverbs 1:22, Romans 1:18-22, John 3:19-20)

Here's my issue. When I listen to so many of these scientists who are religious and it's not just Christian scientists it's Islamic scientists and other religions as well, they aren't getting to the god belief based on science. They aren't creating models that are testable like science does. Many of them check their religious beliefs at the door, many of them have stated outright that no matter what they see in science that contradicts their religious beliefs they will always believe the religious beliefs and that's not logical. If you show me that there's a god, and I'm not saying if you quote a Bible verse I don't care what the Bible says until you can show that the Bible is accurate and what is written in that situation is accurate which really there's no way of doing, I don't care what it says. Because anyone could have written anything and it could have been true or it could have been completely bullshit or it could have been accidentally written incorrectly or it could have been intentionally changed or any one of a number of things could have happened. So I don't care about a Bible verse. There was a scientist who was a Harvard graduate and I forget his name I apologize, if you really want to know it I can try and find it because I don't want you to think that I'm just asserting it but he basically said even if all the evidence showed that the Bible is incorrect, he would acknowledge that but he would still believe in young Earth creationism no matter what and that is just ridiculous. This person was I believe a geologist but don't quote me I could be incorrect I'll have to go look and I'll come down and comment below this. Francis Collins was the head of the human genome project and not only believes in evolution but has stated multiple times that the genetic evidence alone is enough to confirm it and that's far from all we have. His belief in God came from a bicycle ride where he saw a waterfall Frozen and it reminded him of the Trinity and he accepted jesus. You want to do that? Fine but that's not science-based and just because you're a scientist and believe in God doesn't mean that the science LED you to the god. I will admit that William Lane craig, is a brilliant debater. I would be willing to bet any amount of money that if he really wanted to, he could actually debate from an atheist position and still win debates. Even though he doesn't believe it because he's such a great debater. But his arguments, the column and stuff like that are a bunch of assertions. He uses the work of science, but ignores the conclusion and comes to his own but can't do anything besides state it. If this happens it must be like this well sorry that's not how it works. You don't know that. And I know that I'm in enemy ground by saying this and that's fine. I respect your guys's right to believe what you want and in no way am I telling you there is no God because I don't have a clue. But I've seen absolutely nothing that has convinced me there is one. That's not something I choose, if you asked me would I prefer there be an afterlife I would tell you yes because I would love to see my grandma and mom again but that is independent on whether one exists. People can say they saw this or did that but that doesn't do anything for me. I didn't have that experience. I believed in God for years I went to different churches I listened to arguments I prayed I asked for signs, and you can say that I was given signs but I ignored them if you want I think that you are incorrect. Because if there's a god, then that God knows what would convince me that he exists. And if I could look directly at a sign from a God and not recognize that it's a sign, that is not something that would convince me. There should be no way that I can miss it. Telling me to look at the trees or threatening me with hell or reading a Bible verse is going to do absolutely nothing for your position. It's not going to convince me and threatening me with hell is going to make me lose respect for you and walk away. Even if that's what you believe, I will not be convinced by that. So are there scientists that are religious? Sure. But their science and their religion do not appear to go hand in hand. One is a belief that they can't show actual evidence for and the other one is science.
