The Rams had now two Hall of Fame running backs and got rid of both of them, real smart. The players they got in the ED trade all sucked. One of the worst trades in NFL history.

I remembered that run. Like everyone else who saw that 85 yard TD run by Eric Dickerson, we all knew he would be a great NFL running back. It was too bad he got traded to the Indianapolis Colts. He never looked right wearing Indy Blue  & White. 'wished he stayed an LA Ram throughout his career.

He might have the NFL rushing record had he stayed a Ram

I attended that game at Shea along with my older brother. We had nosebleed seats, and there was a group of four friends sitting two rows below us. One of them said, "if they give up another long running touchdown early in the game, I'm going home." After Dickerson's TD his friends had to tackle him to keep him at the game. It was a good thing he stayed - the Jets won on a Pat Leahy field goal in OT.

Man, I loved Eric Dickerson when he first came into the league as a ram. I was a chubby kid, and my favorite backs were BIG backs like Riggins, Muncie, and Campbell. All the other kids I played with on the playground were into Dorsett it seemed. Eric Dickerson, though, was a dream come true because he was a BIG guy who didn't have to run over or through people.  He just ran BY them. He was usually the fastest guy on the field (except for the time Darrell Green ran him down).

They played the Redskins in the playoffs on New Year's Day and got stomped.....I was a kid in the front row at RFK Stadium that day and jumped down on the field after the game to pat Dickerson on the back as he walked into the tunnel......he was all by himself, goggles off, so I looked him in the eyes and said "good season" and he said "thanks."

Greatest running back of all time. I was at that game.

Dickerson was like a Gazelle with a helmet and pads! He glided through DEFENCES & was exciting to see!

Dickerson was great but so was that offensive line. Offensive line, pushes Jets Defensive line 5-yards back at the snap.
