I’ve had good success with that second battery truck, but not every one will come back to life.,
ОтветитьThe batteries are on parallel NOT series
ОтветитьThe irony of optima battery’s, is I have a 6 year old one that is still working and I have new ones that keep dying around the 2 year mark and getting replaced under warranty.. obviously their yellow and blue tops aren’t as reliable anymore. Makes me want to get lithium batteries for the boat..
ОтветитьHello sir, do you know if it will be worke with an optima blue 75Ah? Thanks a lot
ОтветитьI lost one blue top recently.
Ответитьonce the electrolytes dry up, the battery is finished, don't buy a used battery, your being ripped off
ОтветитьHeco Mexico 😂 no Bueno
Ответитьis it possible to revive one from 2014 in 2024?
ОтветитьJust was given a 18 month old Blue Top. 7 volts. Its garbage. No parts store has been able to charge it
ОтветитьWhen you’re reading “WEAK”, you’re reading the 6 VOLT RANGE. It’s reading BAD mate.
ОтветитьThanks for waisting 10 mins of my life
ОтветитьNo more overpriced 'Optima' batteries for me. I've owned at least 4-5 both yellow & red top. Everyone 'failed' within the first two years. These batteries were all used in different vehicles.
ОтветитьI was told by Optima that it can be restored if crystallization happens (under 12.4 volts) so never buy a new AGM if it is under that voltage.
ОтветитьMake sure I use a charger. That's at least 10 V with a double around it. But a restricted 20 V charger low Ambridge. Maybe it will come back or a low Ambridge. 16 V power supply break abase set up. Otherwise, we'll find out why that battery's not holding the charge. Leave it on all night to see what actually will happen. If you have one of those if you have a smart charger just be careful.Set it on slow charge but that may still be saying the charge but it may not
ОтветитьParallel!!! Make sure to add a note to your video correcting your statement of a "series" connection . The batteries need to be connected in "Parallel"!
ОтветитьI thought NOCO repair mode only works on acid or flooded battery as it says on the manual?
ОтветитьMade in Mexico enough said
ОтветитьI thought you said you were going to restore it .
Oh well you gave it a try you got more views and now you have a dead battery.
I loved my yellow it gave me 10 years of perfect love on my Dodge ram.
Thank you for sharing the video even if it did not bring it back to life a lot of people wouldn’t have posted the video unless it worked. I have a 2/18 Optima red top battery that is charging but not fully charged it stops at 12.0 to 12.2 and I’m trying to restore it back to 12.6 12.8 volts as what Optima says on there website, I think it is Sulfate inside maybe let it drop to around 11.5 volts then put it back on charge?
ОтветитьI never heard any mention of amp settings . . .
ОтветитьI've had the same experience with an Optima Yellow Top. Only about 4 years old. Went dead and cannot seem to be revived. On the other hand, I have an Optima Red Top that has been in daily service for at least 10 years and it is just fine.
ОтветитьI know this is an older video. But I have a yellow top from 2009. And still have the instructions.
They are very clear that you put the battery on a high amp load for 10+hours minimum. And then a low amp load or trickle charge for a few hours after.
This battery has "died" once from stereo abuse. And it even tested same as yours. But after giving it about 15 hours of charging it came back.
Maybe they are as hit and miss as people say. But I love my yellow top. Its a beast
Can fix batería óptima yellow
Ответить10 minute video to tell you he put it on a charger with “repair mode”
ОтветитьIt seems to me that you was trying to sell me a noco genius, Mister. Nice try, nice try
ОтветитьMisleading title of this video. It should have included "failed" or "attempt" or similar
ОтветитьI found 2 blue tops for free someone was throwing away. One has a date from 2016. It trips my noco genius pro 10x1. One batt was good, so im doing your jumper cable between them trick. Hopefully that works, otherwise I'll try the repair mode for a while
ОтветитьI keep hearing about how these batteries should have special chargers. Which is funny because the alternator on my old 70's Chevy sure isn't using any special to charge it. No microprocessors. Nothing to shut off when it fully charged.
ОтветитьI have a brand new blue top that worked great for like a month maybe, but the vehicle only was crunk and went around the block maybe 4 times in that month, then I disconnected the battery, removed it and it was working great when I removed it, total trust that it wouldn't let me down, and sat it on my bench top for say maybe another month, boom, try to use it... dead... try to charge? It acts like its taking a charge. Check back in the morning, boom, error... bad battery... wtf? Its literally brand new!
ОтветитьIsn't that called desulfocating when a charger charges like that?
ОтветитьJust had my yellow top battery die after 16 months. I’m just replacing it I drive for a living so I’m not playing with it.
ОтветитьWell... If it lasted 20 years or even 15, the Optima FAR FAR outshines 99% of all other lead/acid batteries.
After going thru several lead acid batteries in under 1 1/2 years in my 2000 Montero Sport, I bit the bullet and installed a yellow top Optima. It outlasted the Montero 🤣.
My daughter still has it and it's running strong 18 years later.
What about an Optima DH6 CCA 800 purchase at AutoZone in 2020.
One Night I forgot and left my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Start Switch ON OVERNIGHT, and does not hold the charge,
Now it does not turn on my Jeep but shows the Dashboard Signs, therefore the Electric Brakes System, and Brake as the ABS LIGHTS stay on.
Any suggestion if my brake Sensors is the problem to turn on my car or if it is just the battery?
Battery also might be shot be aware of that.
ОтветитьYou should try to charge that battery first and then put a little test on it but use a special charger to charge it at low amperage for 24 to 48 hours.
ОтветитьOld school does the best job of testing, and last forever. Mine is ancient and still is perfect. One tip the top of the battery can conduct power, and will drain the battery. Test it by putting the volt ohm meter to the positive then to the top of the battery. Dirty battery will drain. Dirt is conductive.
ОтветитьI have this battery, still good and running after 16 years.
ОтветитьI think I'm stupider thanks to this video Mr noco rep
ОтветитьI'm charging mine with a harbor freight float charger , it read 12.30 volts and was still starting my car , a lead acid wouldn't start a car with that voltage.
ОтветитьFor whatever reason, all my Schumacher maintainers won't maintain. I've asked the part store and they said they are getting back tons of maintainers and batteries. I've replaced 3 Optimas in a row. New off the shelf and they went dead after a few months of use. I use to swear by them, but anymore I just don't know. I ended up buying a Motorcraft only because of the warranty, which is about the best on the market I've seen.
I have a Schumacher sc1400 that just quit. I contacted them and they wouldn't replace it and said they didn't have the parts to fix it either. So I'm stuck with a $335 charger I can't use. The harbor freight maintainers seem to work the best besides the clips corroding after a few months. I've tried many different maintainers/chargers on the net.
My neighbor has a noco but he finally admitted it won't work on bad batteries after he tried bringing back 5 different batteries I had. He said it worked on his Honda. I told him it'll work on a good battery that just needs recharged but not on a bad battery. After yrs of trying to save batteries, the time it takes just isn't worth it. A battery you think you saved will just give up when you don't expect it. Also it'll never give the same performance as it use to. Next you burn up a starter or have other electrical issues all leading back to a bad battery. Just buy a new battery.
I would have peeled the label off the battery and popped off the caps, checked the electrolyte (top of with distilled water), hooked up a 200amp stick welder or 200amp manual charger and bring the battery to a boil for 15min, rest it for a hour, repeat, min 5 times. Then try the NOCO. Never give up..
ОтветитьNoco products are awesome well worth the money
ОтветитьYou must be special idiot to load test battery that you verified has low voltage !! Godamn
ОтветитьCuantos días quizá duro la batería 🪫 pegada al cargador, saludos desde Costa Rica 🇨🇷
ОтветитьNow that Optima is owned by Clarios, they want you to buy their own brand of battery charger - which despite the high price - will not restore a battery with a bad cell. Battery chargers claim that they can reverse stratification and sulfation. I don't know. When a battery drains, and it's still under warranty, I've been able to recharge some batteries. But when an out of warranty period battery on the charger gets hot, that's not coming back to life. Kind of weird to spend money on a battery charger, to restore a battery under warranty, which should just be replaced under warranty.
ОтветитьBattery charger model no good.
ОтветитьDrop it off a cliff ask guy if it hurt at the bottom
ОтветитьHow your buffering can you do the same thing with a battery tender?
Ответитьthe old American-made dual-mode blue tops are the only opti's worth rebuilding.
