Come with us as we take a walk around Loughrigg fell and Rydal Cave. Apologies the video is short. I lost most of my footage so just put something together with the clips I dod have.
This route will take you through bluebell woods, along Loughrigg Terrace before ascending up to Loughrigg fell. From the top there are beautiful views across grass mere. Sadly we had wind, rain and fog but still enjoyed it!! The descent will take you round to Rydal cave which is an old slate mine. The entrance has stepping stones as it’s flooded and there’s also some fish in the flooded area which is pretty cool. Hope you enjoy!
Terrain: moderate. There is a short 30 min walk to Rydal cave which is along a marked path. The circular route around Loughrigg fell is mostly marked but there are some steep ascents and narrow muddy paths.
