ОтветитьFirst let me say, the documentary was amazing. My father is from Rosehill,Ms by way of Holly Springs. I’m learning more about it and understand my upbringing. Okay now , 53: 00 into … Listening to RL dish on how bad he needed cash while they laughed and make excuses… my father lives that. It’s no opportunity there and if you did get help you screwed over or tried advantage of. 😒 My people, I wish we knew freedom of oppression. Why are they not payed? Why don’t they own homes? What tf is this company doing? They are playing with Celebrities… Recording… like…. 😢 That’s why we sing the blues man.
ОтветитьThank you Fat Possum Records for this magic!!!!!!!!!!

But for the love of god, edit Bono out of it.
We all know what he gets up to.
Such an inspiration, thank you for capturing this music before its gone. Followed, subscribed and will be looking for some Fat Possum media to have.

ОтветитьMan, I've been a musician/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist here in Nashville, Tennessee for over 35 years, and I'll be honest; Yeah, there may be some raw talent here, but that's ALL it is- Some musicians dedicate their ENTIRE lives to their music, and most of these guys couldn't be bothered to even put in the time to learn what a guitar is, how it works, let alone how to PLAY it, or to spend ANY time learning ANYTHING about how MUSIC works- These guys are about two steps away from bein a total accident, like spilling paint and it makes an interesting shape that SOME people would pay $1000 for... Or a bird sittin on a branch- Yeah, you can appreciate it, but it ain't THAT special, man... For most of these cats, the MUSIC is just an after thought, IF THAT, they seem WAY more interested in the whisky, women, partying, and above all else: The MONEY... Makes for good stories, I guess, but the "music" AIN'T the focus... Ya can't ask people to care about "art" more than the actual "artists" do... But thats, just, like, my opinion, man...
Ответить"There not enough purist around to respect how it was done in the 1930s, weve got to bring it to this century" i beg to differ.
"See sometimes if you go to the doctor you dont come back" come on t model, im watching this in the hospital!
I bought five of the DVDs and gifted them to friends. It’s amazeballs. Thank you so much for capturing this incredible history.
ОтветитьNorthern Mississippi Hill Country Blues has a different vibe on it's own like the Delta. More of a hypnotic trance rhythm.
ОтветитьWhat a wonderful documentary these guys are legends
ОтветитьIntroduced me to Hill Country Blues the most original shit I've ever heard. Immediately my favorite. I'm pretty sure every person around me has, at one time or another, been exposed to RL Burnside or Jr Kimbrough( ...you better run...) rip both of them. Thanks
ОтветитьI love this documentary so much, amazing history
ОтветитьDoes anyone know what version of See me laughing is in the credits and where one can acquire a copy legally?
ОтветитьI love the sweetness, I hear in the men. 🍯🪅
