GIG WORKERS REJOICE! New Bill Could = Portable Benefits

SB 233 was introduced today! This bill would offer a pathway for independent contractors and gig workers to access affordable coverage options.

We support this bill. This bill will lay the groundwork for gig workers to access affordable and customizable coverage options by clarifying that when hiring parties contribute to portable benefits plans it does not create employment liability.
