At home DIYs have never seemed smart to me. I've always said, food is for eating and if you want the benefits just eat it lol. I think of all the wasted eggs, yogurt, honey, avocados and mayo and shed a year 😢🤣

I always put Mayo on my hair after bleaching for protein and it definitely works for me. But I'd never try putting just a mash avocado in my hair 🤣

I am so hopeful that you read this. I live in San Antonio and we have hard water. I just installed a filtered shower head and am going to begin the process of recovery. Otherwise, I am literally on the edge of chopping off my hair because I can't stand it anymore. It's very long and it's currently like hay. Please help, Mell. How would you recommend a fairly inexpensive recovery routine? I don't want to chop it, I'd cry in bed for weeks but I need help!!

I've been seeing a lot of articles about how DIY fenugreek mists and masks can help with scalp care and new hair growth. Is there any truth to that? I'm not finding anything to the contrary.

Hi Mell! I love your videos but I'm going to have to respectfully agree to disagree with you on this one. All of our ancestors would have been bald if the DIY's weren't effective. Because let's face it, better living through chemistry is a very recent thing. Not everything is going to work for everybody. The only two things that probably work 100% of the time for 100% of the people is: water and air. Still, I appreciate all your time and energy that you put into these videos! If I'm ever in Canada I'd definitely look you up to do my hair! 💚💛💚💛💚

I see some people using personal lubricants like KY Jelly instead of hair gel. They say it works great. Have you ever tried it? I wonder what made someone try it the first time. I feel the same way about eating oysters. Why would you look at an oyster and think you should eat it?

Yogurt with Castor & Hemp seed oil is the shitttt✌ also Hemp powder in ricewater with geranium oil is bomb - my mixes transformed my hair, worked on friends & family too! I wouldn't use avacado on hair though but it's nice as a facemask mixed with lavender.

Do you find the devacut worth it? If not then what sort of haircut do you ask for? I am curious because I received a devacut and I honestly do not see it being worth it. The curls are all different lengths which drove me crazy. I liked my $45 haircut from a curly hair specialist at Aveda better.

My Hair ist way stronger and healthier since i put a hairmask once in a while.
I use oliveoil, honey, aloe vera, Apple essence vinegar and Mayonnaise.
Sounds Strange. But my Hair is for real better since then. I couldnt find a conditioner perfect for my Hair without silicones. So my hair Changed slowly but now they are silky af.
I did the test over a Longtherme time and it worked

I've heard, that it's actual not very healthy to put just raw coconut oil onto your hair, especially in summer, because it basically cooks your hair in the sun. Also in winter you'll see the product in your hair, as it travels on your strands, when indoors and clumps up outside.

I can’t eat avocado, I’m allergic 😩😩😩 Developed the allergy out of nowhere like 8 years ago. And it was devastating and hard to accept 😢😭💔 But I can tolerate it in my hair without having a reaction. So I pulverize it into a smooth cream with eggs, honey, banana and yogurt and a load of my secret oil blend 😉 and I leave it on for a couple hours, as the longer you do the better chance of it penetrating, as far as what I’ve read anyway.. Hoping it’s getting in there 😂🤣😂

I agree. Just eat the foods. It wouldn’t make sense to put those foods in your hair meanwhile eating still eating, drinking, & smoking 🗑💩. & just buying organic & natural hair products with vitamins & minerals can save you some money on groceries. You don’t have to spend unnecessary extra money every time you go to the grocery store.

Hi Mel, have you tried flaxseed. During my 3yr curly journey, still learning lol
Looking to make my own gel, I came across flaxseed. Boil them to make a gel, then blitz to make creamy conditioner. This apparently can help hair growth and used by a lot of Asians/Caribbean women. Any views?
