ОтветитьThe IDF can retreat within minutes. They were in just by a boots-length ... :D
ОтветитьGreat to see Jamie Hale on NM. Please have them on as a regular contributor.
ОтветитьFrance just chose to trash international
law to defend Israel & give immunity to
wanted war criminal Netanyahu, using
the Lebanon temporary ceasefire as a
convenient excuse to save face!
Let the masks keep falling & showing the fraud of their "rule-based international order".
I wasn't sure which way I would vote, if I had a vote, on the assisted dying bill. Jamie Hale has convinced me against it.
ОтветитьIt’s amazing that France declares ‘immunity’. What on Earth is going on?!
ОтветитьWhy can’t I comment anymore ? They have all been fair and just. It seems you have bocked me
ОтветитьOn employment, I did that, several times, and after about a year found a job where I was fired after two months for not being able to move my hands fast enough (I later found out that I have a disability). I gave up on finding a job and applied to university instead.
ОтветитьMaking it up as we go along law, - WE ARE GUILTY. WE ARE GUILTY. AND IT GONNA GET WORSE I BELIEVE!
ОтветитьFree Palestine
ОтветитьShame on Macron.
Ответитьits not weather youre a burden to others or a states thats important, its about if life is a burden to yourself THATS THE QUESTION
ОтветитьThe democrats will do the same thing they did after losing to Reagan, scamper after the right wing electors and blame the left.
ОтветитьThat you haven’t picked up that the ceasefire agreement is with Hezbollah, not Lebanon, says everything.
ОтветитьIt goes without saying that committing suicide would be extremely painful and scary, assisted dying would stop that. I personally wouldn't want anyone caring for me, cleaning me and feeding me if I was unable to, at that point my life would no longer be worth living - that's my personal opinion, I'm not speaking for anyone else. I'm disabled myself and respect the difference of opinion but its very clear that this bill is for terminally ill people and not disabled people. However, if people are depressed for example and they've literally tried every treatment available over 10-30 years or so and nothing has improved how they feel and they still want to end their life, why can't that person choose to die? It’s crueller to force them to live imo, then they'll ultimately die a horrible, self inflicted death because they weren't allowed assisted dying and what happens when their attempt fails and they’re significantly worse off? We should be allowed to die safely and with our dignity in tact.
ОтветитьLebanon used to be a nice country. The Lebanon/Israel border was Israel’s least volatile border. Beirut was “the Paris of the Middle East”. What happened?
ОтветитьWhat a fabulous programme. You two are the best ! Steven is such a good host, with succinct questions, unlike some of Michael's that ramble on and on. Steven also avoids Michael's annoying habit of reading something out or playing a clip and then telling us what we have just heard him read or seen for ourselves. Helena is simply stunning, a brilliant analyst and commentator. 🎉
Ответитьthey're still bombing Lebanon not sure why you believing Biden this the same man that SAW 40 non existant beheaded babies 🤦♀️🤦♀️
ОтветитьGet out IDF go away free Palestine 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸 🇵🇸
ОтветитьThe fundamental paradigm of feudalism has not changed. The elites expect us peasants to work for their benefit because they are superior to us, whether we get something out of it or not is irrelevant except that our lives will be made worse if we refuse.
ОтветитьVery good. Outstanding show. Again. Congratulations and thanks to all at NM.
Ответитьceasefire deal is bad news for palestinians cmm
ОтветитьLoved the segment on work. Brilliant commentary from Helena and Steven.
ОтветитьI don't get the argument that the state killing its citizens is crossing some new line
the state is by definition the monopoly on legitimate violence within a defined territory so the right to kill people is part of what defines a state as being a state
They had a cease fire with Hamas last year around the same time for the holidays.
ОтветитьThe assistant dying Bill, also known as the IDF
ОтветитьSurprise Surprise the IOF hasn't stepped down 🙄
ОтветитьNow the Democrats have identified the left as being to blame for their failures, it’s probably about time to give Hilary Clinton another shot…
…at losing.
I’m joking, of course.
So IDF can now turn its attention to completely flatten all of Gaza and clear itcready for the buildingvofcthr new condos for the Israelis and western politicians to move into. No one gives a fk, no one. Not a single world leader has stopped funding or feeding the Israelis with every single aid to ensure this anihilation, erasure, genocidal massacre of innocent civilians with impunity and aplomb. Indeed, they are still talking about how-to protect the devil incarnate Netanyahu. I am sickened and scunnered to my core with the entire western premise.
ОтветитьI grew up in a world where people did not need to buy a house. Renting was acceptable and encouraged. We had a social housing sector. What have young people got to look forward to in our society?
ОтветитьOn the death bill: Good intentions have never been useful for anything much but road paving on the highway to hell.
ОтветитьListening to Leadbetter ignore the question about potential changes to social attitudes, & not engage with the argument at all, has helped clarify my position on assisted dying (not that it matters, the politicians will decide this, & that's usually on the grounds of what's best for their careers ultimately). Plus Jamie Hale - big respect.
ОтветитьYes , neo- liberal doctrine= get a job, regardless of the rewards, material or spiritual.
ОтветитьBiden is the most horrific president no wonder the U.S. chose chaos under Trump than a continuation of his policies. Free Palestine!
ОтветитьI'm sorry, but just because some people are worried about a slippery slope, or they can't imagine that some people might choose to end their lives under different conditions than they themselves would, that shouldn't give them the right to cause intolerable pain and suffering to hundreds of thousands, even millions, of people over what, the next hundred years because they have decided that their concerns are more important than the rights of others over their own bodies, lives, and eventual deaths. Either we believe in bodily autonomy or we don't. And effectively handwaving this to "oh well, people kill themselves all the time, and I support suicide being decrimilalised" is just callous.
ОтветитьDonald the peace maker strikes again !
ОтветитьI can tell you if you are elderly with health conditions this bill is terrifying. To think we might go to the doctor and feel she thinks we should perhaps die, already it's well known that you get better, faster treatment if you can say it's interfering with your ability to work. Living out your last years feeling a burden and unworthy of life. Young people see extreme age as something they never want to experience but it can be a joyful part of life.
ОтветитьGenX did not get defined benefit schemes like the boomers did, or at least nobody I know from my generation did - many of us have hotchpotches of private pensions which are worth far less than we need them to be because we were working for companies which didn't even have to offer them for years unlike now at least where one has to be offered and so we're looking like we won't be able to retire at all.
Ответить2.8 million long-term sick & disabled -- 831,000 job vacancies in the UK economy.... What are they suggesting, the worlds largest job sharing scheme?
ОтветитьSorry guys, but can someone please give Steven a glass of water. The dry mouth noises are getting out of hand.
Ответитьits so wrong that britain is choosing to withhold healthcare from trans people but then also provide end of life assistance
ОтветитьIn principle, assisted dying should be something that individuals should have access to. But do I trust the UK government to get it right? Absolutely not!
ОтветитьWith respect to the disabled person, there’s is a straw man argument. This legislation is not for non terminally ill disabled people or for those that have more than six months to live. This is about choice - having the choice to control your own life, make decisions about your own health and be able to manage your life as you see fit.
I find it particularly grotesque when people on the left speak out against assisted dying. We almost universally support the right of another person to end the life of an unborn person. It seems to me to be deeply disingenuous to oppose the right of people to choose to end their own life if you support the right of another person to foreshorten the life of an unborn person.
Brilliant show! Thank you.
ОтветитьA great presentation team. Thanks
ОтветитьI fear the assisted dying bill could in our culture of demonisation of disabled people could lead to negative eugenics
ОтветитьHezza Surrenders! Self Preservation comes First!
