A car is just supposed to take you places. Not entertain you while driving and almost make you crash. I feel like driving is fun.

TFL, thank you so much you guys are always making videos that are entertaining but more importantly you guys include your personal preference which is so influential and needed to describe cars. I love how Roman described these driverless cars that are completely ruining the purpose of driving which is to have FUN!

I have 2015golf tdi and prefer the dsg auto box, I can cocentrate more on driving than what gear am I in . I think that auto is an advancement in a good way. I lived in the Uk were most cars are still manual , I agree with the coments on all the info computer stuff we need to concentrate on driving ONLY

Autonomous cars are turning into small private metro wagons. If you don't want to, or don't like to drive just take the metro for fucks sake.

I hate the idea of autonomous cars. Driving is fun which is why it's nice to have variety. The second all cars drive themselves I feel that there will be one main company that dominates the world.

Man, this video hit home. I'm 28 and was born in the era of fuel injection and subsequently when cars became pretty complicated. Not too many dudes my ages who can tweak a carburetor, and I'm proud of that. As for technology that's helped me, I'm quite fond of the ability of touch screens to get info from my iPod and let me play 1000+ songs anytime I want, versus the old tapes and CDs. It's been around a while, but it's always something I've loved. I only recently picked up my 2012 Charger R/T, but before that I drove a 94 Roadmaster Wagon to save up the full cost of the Charger, being relegated to only radio tunes for the longest time.

New vehicles have a monumental amount of electronic junk inside them..................good luck keeping them on the road any longer than 10 years. That's what car companies want though, disposable garbage to keep you coming back for more.

Not sure if it is tech but I would say push button start/proximity key. I used to dismiss it but now that I have it in my current car I LOVE it. my fob always stays in my pocket, there is no way I can lock my key in the car, it is just less things to rattle and carry around. I love it so much that if/when i purchase another vehicle it will make or break the deal.

This list definitely isn't for anyone that's part of Gen. Y lol. I personally like a lot of the new technologies (like the ones listed on #3-5) when they work right. However, I totally agree with 1 and 2. I think that totally autonomous driving will defeat the purpose of driving, and poses safety risks too while the technology is still being worked out. I'd rather keep driving my older car that I can control than completely kicking back while on the road.

All of this technology adds to the cost of the vehicle and assures higher maintenance costs. If I have to replace my vehicle I will purchase another older vehicle in order to avoid all of this. I enjoy driving and am not interested in trusting a computer that can and will fail. I have learned that other drivers want to stay alive and as a result we look out for each other. That does not apply to those of you that cannot take your eyes off of your cell phone or infotainment systems. Grow up and take responsibility for yourself.

I love my OnStar app! In the summer I can start my vehicle 10 minutes before I get off work so the cabin is already cooled down by the time I get to it. And on cold winter mornings, I can warm it up before I leave the house so the cabin is warm and the AK does and mirrors are defrosted.

I have solved a lot of this horrible tech, my rule is to never NEVER buy a vehicle with an automatic transmission. 1. Real vehicles don't shift themselves and 2. You can't drive an automatic, you can only aim it. I think it''s very funny to watch TV commercials where the driver moves the shift lever about a half inch as if they're pretending they're driving a real vehicle. Off-roading in Colorado is one of the greatest joys there is and I've been doing this for 55 years. Not one of these so called tech advanced vehicles can start to go where my FJ Cruiser loves to play let alone understand asking for directions to "Black Bear Road" or "Elephant Hill". All they can do with they're fancy tech is piddle around on hard surfaced roads.

Two things I hate in cars- Automatic Transmissions and Drive By Wire throttle control. A car with a manual transmission gives you so much more control and they last much longer. I don't understand why most cars in the US can only be purchased with automatic transmissions.

100% correct. Today, cars are sold by their gadgets rather than by their efficiency or spaciousness. It's like back in the day when the Aztek was sold with a tent and a cooler. Isn't that something you can buy separately? Remember in the 90s when there was a big boom in buying your own car audio system? Now, you can't because the entire computer system is running through the infotainment system. And if you take it out, you will disable the car.

I just need a car to tell me when my car is overheating, oil and gas is low, and the speed I am driving. The rest I can take care of myself. The air pressure in your tires is something you can eyeball yourself, or just get a pressure gauge. TPMS is not needed, and over-complicating the simple tire.

Car tech making our lives better---Those that were born after the mid 80's has no idea what's it like to Nurse-Maid a Jinky Carburetor's Choke on a cold winter's morning. Jumper cables was a mandatory piece of equipment for nearly every car back in the day because you knew you were going to drain the battery clearing a flooded engine if not started absolutely correctly.
