Kenya’s Flower Sector Set for Economic Boost with Export Surge

Kenya is course to break flower exports this year, with the country expected to ship out 250,000 metric tons of the commodity by the end of the year. The Kenya Flower Council says this is be driven by the high demand from key export markets in Europe and Asia. In the last 8 months Kenya has already exported 200,000 metric tons of flowers. Last year Kenya exported 238,000 metric tons of flowers earning the country 107 billion shillings.
