Sinking of the Concordia caught on camera (Documentary)

From what I just listened to, no one had to die in that disaster. The captain was asked explicitly if help was needed and he said no. He is absolutely a criminal.

Classic example of "when the authority figures tell you don't panic everything is fine, is when you panic".

This is literally recreating history of titanic, exactly 100 years later… maybe in 3012 a ship will sink again, who knows.. but I pay respects to all lives lost, I was 2 when this happened..

The whole scene is terrifying. The only thing worse than being stuck on the sinking ship would have to be being stuck in a lifeboat with these people

Wow man that captain is a coward I know a lot of people will say. “ you don’t know what it’s like in that situation” but what I do know is if I was captain I know I made the ship sink by accident I am responsible for the lives on the ship I will be the last to leave the ship.

If You think that after this shameful event Costa lines have lost credibility, bookings and people 's trust... You better think again, its vessels are packed with tourists , as if this tragedy that highlighted the most complete lack of leadership and competence never happened.

I’m a passenger conductor for the railroad. I will tell you what will infuriate your captain, conductor or crew trying to figure out the next move in real time is for you to approach and ask dumb questions individually. It only slows down any progress because we have to stop and explain things to you that you wouldn’t understand anyway. Then the person behind you sees what you just did then they do the same and so on. When we know anything WE WILL make a broad announcement. Trust me.

No matter how advanced these boats are, the training of the crew, they are all humans or made by humans. Flawed and afraid. Nothing is safe.

the evidence clearly shows the captain is responsible for lack of protection mindset. you have a lot of liability on your shoulders for such a position, it makes question the screening process needs to ask some additional questions for their schooling. morals, values and beliefs should be questioned systematically during the hiring process. for real, this captain doesn't look good or sound good on camera. I would like to hear the black box evidence however, it obviously as we know not just a 'GENERATOR FAILURE' what a blunder and learning experience, regulations and law need to require a common sense exam to be considered during the hiring and placement process. is the hiring agency at fault? or the shipping company? or the captains teachers? or the engineers? etc etc. a follow up video to who actually is at fault here would be nice... still so many questions, just flabbergasted over it

Whether it is the WTC on September 11, where the authorities sent people back up into the south tower after they self-evacuated because of the impact in the north tower or the advice of the authorities to the dwellers of the burning Greenfell tower in London to stay put or the captain and crew of this ship....there is one lesson learned from all this and other disasters: DO NOT listen to the authorities when catastrophes or extreme circumstances arise. Do what is prudent, what is logic and do it fast - on your own.

Its the captains fault because he isn’t a good captain he literally left everyone on the boat while its sinking who ever doesn’t know the captain tried impressing his girlfriend on the costa condordia he left everyone to die like he is a bad captain he wouldn’t even save people he got arrested for the sinking costa condordia respect to who gave their seat in the lifeboat for a mom and dad and children the man gave his seat and died and there was a waiter the waiter gave a woman his own lifesaver jacket and he died too and yea 32 people died I feel sad for the 32 people (can YALL give me a little likes pls but if you don’t wanna give a like its ok i worked hard writing this)

the captain got drunk, crashed and got on a life boat and left. he was caught by his superiors and they made him go back on the ship until everyone else got off.

Captain saying on the radio they only have a black out and didn't need assistance. Wtf is wrong with that guy. Did he think he was going to hide the accident or something? I didn't know he did that. That alone may have cost many lives.

The captain was ultimately responsible but I’ve never witnessed a more inept crew. Sadly the crew also contributed to loss of life.

More ppl can be saved if they would just stop lying, down playing the emergency, act swiftly & TAKE THE HELP they were offered by surrounding agencies! I just don’t understand why tragedies are always ignored up front & tell the passengers to go sit down & wait instead of having them suit up in their life jackets asap & already waiting to board life boats for precautionary measures 🤦🏾‍♀️
