Missing lot of information , very little research done. There are problems and solutions but this video doesn't give anything useful.

1) India have much much bigger companies (TCS , Infosys, Reliance, Adani) compared to anything Korea have. We are not missing on cutting edge, we are doing pretty good. We dominate software, we have made things digital which is far better than anything in the world.
2) You don't want to be Korea, Korea reproductivy is 0.72. The country is going to be extinct and that is because of how the country developed in last 40years. Worst ever comparison.

All the tax payers money will be collected and then will be used to win elections for the next years - ladli behan yojna , free rashan and what not . And even if that is not enough then opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi want reservations in the private sectors ... Amazing kudos to our country if this goes on our generations after generations will be stuck under poverty dirt and cheap labour.

Fantastic.! Ganesh your case studies and explanations are getting better and better. I love watching a new case study and eagerly wait for the next one to come out, You definitely raised bar in how to study cases - definitely not taught in schools/colleges. From my personal experience, The required skills were learnt and taught while working at the Job, anything before that was a complete waste of time and money, but the sad reality is most people struggle to get the job due to lack of skills and to learn those skills you need a job, Its a vicious cycle. If only the skills were taught and learnt where it should be - in schools/colleges and Institutes we could have been at a better stage. Also another observation is that our education system needs to implement minimum work experience requirements for high studies. ICAI has 2 years of article ships training for candidates pursuing CA but candidates pursuing MBA, just walks in without any work exp or skill developments. PG degrees needs to hold more values just like CA, because right now people are able to do PG even from Tier 3/4 colleges but dont find relevant jobs and yet end up in the statistics on how many post grads are still unemployed. I'm not suggesting that the education shouldn't be affordable to those who cant afford to go to Tier 1/2 colleges but we need better system so the one's who are coming out of the system, can be more successful. This degree especially hold so much potentials to create more and more entrepreneurs but it seems to be going to waste (P.S. CA and MBA are just some examples I have used to demonstrate my points) Thanks for reading my comment.

The first and foremost to do in India is to reform this long obsolete education system. In the name of reforms, the govt. is more focused on cutting topics with political motives and halving the maths syllabus. And this 4th largest economy miracle, I had learned in my 10th class that aggregates are stupid and anything which makes sense is per capita income. Hope that part is still in the syllabus.

You touched the crux of the issue.. Our Politicians & bureaucrats are so busy hiding our flaws that this has become their success metric... There's no longterm plan, there's knee jerk response to every crisis. and focus is always on fixing the symptoms.. never the disease... I suppose the short term focus on getting votes is partly to blame... Turkey, South Korea all of them functioned with a form of autocracy before they became truly democratic...

I stayed in a tribal village for a week. Govt made sure that every house in every village gets a toilet. The villagers just used that money or spent very little of it. All of them had jio and a smartphone. Even the poorest. They didn't know they have massive reservation benefits because they spend their time watching reels and shorts instead of browsing the web for information. They have a victim mindset and think everybody is plotting against them. The village is one of my professors. His father is a primary school teacher. He educated him. And now he's a scientist/researcher. They have come out of poverty. They encourage village men to get their child educated but they want them to work in the fields. Yes corruption is there. School funds are cut and distributed amongst the babus.

Very much on point: but everyone should understand, the dream what we are looking at, we started watching after 2014, actually it's a real independence, in most of the worlds Newspaper and media, and here is the reason, in last 11 years we prioritised building roads, ports, new power grids, more airports, renewable energy, and in last 11 years we have done marvelous job, but coming to the point of comparing with South Korea, Malasia, China, they started all this decision almost 50-60 years back. so actually we carry 50 years of long backlog. and to cover this backlog we need almost next 30-40 years with this pace, so if someone is showing mirror to the govt. all the past govt. who were just involved with making news with corruption, no vision, are equally responsible for this backlog. and i hope the entire country knows who were in power for last 6 decades. probably it may sound supporting the current govt. but if you will actually see the journey of india in last 60 years, decade by decade, and govt. by govt. and decision taken by them and real work happened on those, you will be blown away with the facts & figures. so just open your eyes as you are checking history and comparing with other counties. looking for future, past should be remembered.

You cannot always compare goverment spending on innovation as benchmark. In other countries there are large nationalized corporations and thus it appears that their government spend on innovation is large when those corporations spend on innovations. The patent filling by india is 1/6 of China which is well justified by our size of economies , so we aren't lagging. Innovations in private sectors keep on happening at fast pace, you need to dig deeper. Once we start assembling phones today then only we can bulld ours tomorrow. Focus on innovation is good but it is not necessary to innvote by your own self, countries who have copied innovation fast have grown rapidly like Singapore. I still believe you cannot call Indian published research papers as copy paste 😮 there's genuine work happening

4 trillion USD is a reality and so does 1.4 billion people.

Don't cringe about either. Accept it and move.

India's growth rate is 6-7%
Japan has 1-2%

India's PPP growth is moving faster than developed countries.

Note : Always compare per capita on PPP basis during comparison.
Why excluding relative inflation and currency rate out of equation ?

Per capita on nominal terms means absolute nothing.

According to me, the first thing to do is to shut down the education business which is currently going on. This business takes fees just to give a paper with good scores and produces robots. All the businesses are competing against each other that they produce better robots. You can take example as Kota. Parents also have some fault in this but nobody can do anything, they just follow the system. If government will try to do this, all the businesses will come together and let the government fall.
this is the reality.
